We got married on the beach at Sand Key (near Clearwater)
It was really beautiful. I wore a simple white dress and my DH wore a white linen shirt and khaki linen pants.'
It was a very small wedding and our guests just stood-they were all barefoot like us.
We paid for the minister from a local church and I purchased a bouquet from the local florist and had it delivered to the hotel. We also hired a photographer that the hotel recommended.
We spent way less than $2,000. We mainly put everything together ourselves and did have a package through the hotel. They ended up refunding us some of our money because my brother passed away shortly before the wedding and much of my family didn't come. I thought this was very nice of the hotel. They were under no obligation to do so.
We did not have a reception on the beach even though it was an option. There just weren't enough people there. We had a wonderful dinner reception in the upscale restaurant at the hotel.
If I was having a larger wedding-anything over 20 people-I probably would have done a tented reception on the beach. Most hotels will offer several different options to fit any budget-from appetizers and cake to a full dinner, etc.
That's about all I can think of.
