Good morning! I just wanted to check in to see if anyone else is like me. Our WDW vacation was over Spring Break, so we returned home on 3/26/08. The week after our vacation, my mood was fine since I was looking at all the pictures and such, but now I'm a bit depressed because it's all over :sad2:

We planned and planned for our trip, which was so exciting and so much fun. It really extended the "vacation" by doing the planning. Now it feels like there's just nothing to look forward to & I'm quite bored!

We're going back in 2 years, but that just doesn't do it, kwim?

Anyone else feel this kind of let down after the magic of WDW is over & your back to work and back to everyday, normal life?

I might be in your boat if we had 2 Disney-free years facing us, we once went 18 months between trips and it was hard getting into the planning that far off. As long as we go yearly and for 7 or more park days, we leave The World feeling like we've had our fill. We got back on March 7 after 8 park days and I've already booked the BoardWalk villa for next year and I'm hunting for good airfares right now.

Hey, Bill! I grew up in W-B, but live in WV now. My whole family is still there though. I went to Coughlin HS, how about you? Small world....

Thanks for the input. Maybe I need to convince DH that we need to go back next year, not in 2 years. BUT, the reason we decided for 2 years from now is because our little one will be 4 in two years. It was certainly a challenge doing Disney with a 2-year old & the challenge will probably be the same with a 3-year old.

It is very depressing especially when you have a long break between trips. But this board really helps to get me through that time. Reading trip reports and looking at pictures from other people's trips help me out alot! It's kind of like a support group for Disney nuts.

Hello, my name is Sneezie and I'm a Disney addict. It's been seven months and four days since my last trip.

Hi, ex-neighbor. I'm a Meyers grad, class of '68, Bloomsburg '72 currently working at Misericordia. My youngest daughter and SIL are delaying their next Disney trip to put a little age on their three kids as well. They joined us in March 2007 and it will probably be 2010 before we get the whole family together again.

and I find you again with another beer in your sig :rotfl:

Yes, I did somewhat after my trip last June. for one thing, I didn't know when I would be returning. recently, DH and I decided to go back in late 2009 for our 10th anniversary:) . Now, I'm back into the swing of things, waiting anxiously until August when I can book my trip. Oh, and I'm already planning too!

Hi Sharon & Fellow Disers,
My family all felt the same way post-disney trip 2007 (grand gathering of 21 with all the in-laws). Our next trip is planned 2009. We spend time talking about disney, watching specials on TV, etc. after our trip. Somehow I actually get a little anxious about our '09 trip - because we had such a wonderful time in '07, I just hope everything is as magical next year !

I have two suggestions for you:

1. Scrap your trip..to me the trip isn't official over until the pix have been scrapbooked!

2. Book the next one! I personally cannot work without a countdown, either a disney trip or a cruise, they both work for me :thumbsup2

It's a smaller world now... I graduated from Bloom also, a little bit later than you in 1989. I work in Wash, DC as a goverment consultant now.

I can understand your daughter's point of view, for sure about waiting for the kids to grow up a bit. In my experience, 6 years old is the best, no strollers needed, no naps needed, they can ride the "big" rides with you, etc + the magic is still there for them.

That's a good point, lucigo!! With over 450 pics my DH took, plus the photopass pictures we'll get on our CD, it should take me to my next WDW vacation time!! YIKES...

How early can you book another vacation? Can I book my 2010 vacation now???

I do get sad after my trip too. I have never scrap booked before, (NOT crafty), but I very well may have to learn if it will extend the magic.

It's depressing. We don't know when we'll be able to get back. We just can't afford too since rent went up and we're waiting to see if DH has a job with the next round of cuts. He did get a $1 and hour raise last week so we hold out hope but you never know. It's really bothering us both since we used to go every month or so even for a quick weekend. We have APs and it's been the best thing in the world for us.

I totally know how you feel. I actually start getting "down" the night before we leave Disney. I have now tried to deal with it by having DH take me to DTD on the day we leave so I can shop!

Scrapbooking DOES really help! My latest addiction is scrapbooking online...since I'm kinda scrapbook challenged.

I 've been lucky this past year , in Dec. it will be the 4th time to Disney but I know that it will be a while before we go back so to try and keep myself from becoming a sobbing monster, I decided that my garden is going to get overhauled. Planting little mickey gardens! So everytime I start to get a little down I can go into my backyard and have my own little "Disney Magic"
Crazy I know! But I'm a little addicted!

There is a whole scrapbooking thread under the "Creative Community" section. You should check it out!

Thats a cute idea! Feel free to send a picture! :yay:

I definately will. It's a big project but as soon as the weather starts cooperating a little more I can start tackling it.

I was so depressed after our last Disney trip, that we ended up become DVC member so now the magic never ends. I'd say it's normal to be depressed after such a great vacation.
