Anyone get Aulani for xmas at 7 mo?

Out of morbid curiosity, I just checked dvcmember.com to see what availability looked like at Aulani over Christmas this year. Sheesh! Nothing available at all. I was wondering if anyone out there was able to get Christmas at the 7 month window? Is there any hope for Christmas 2014?

I was hoping for the same-Christmas in 2014 but I don't think that is possible! Thanksgiving was wide open but New York to Hawaii is a long flight for just six nights.
Did anyone else have luck?

We went through this last year--trying to book Dec 27-Jan 3 for Aulani @ 7 month window. We finally stayed in Waikiki until New Years Day, when our Aulani reservations started. We did find scattered days of different unit types for the few days before New Years Eve, but nothing ever opened up for Dec 31. The gigantic fireworks display that is put on at Ko Olina is now a major draw, so the night of Dec 31 is virtually impossible at the 7 months window. We were not going to stay at Aulani for Dec 28,29,30 and have to move out for the night of the 31st and then move back on the 1st--way too much hassle.

Our new strategy: just wait until about January 3-4 and everything opens waaaay up! Of course, if you have kids in school, that doesn't work too well!

I posted in the above thread. I was able to get a 2BR 12/21 - 12/28 without a problem. We then had to take 2 studios for 12/28 - 12/29 and then move to a cash reservation in a 2BR 12/29 - 1/2.

Since then, we've been able to get 12/29 on points in a 2BR and we're using waitlists to try and get the rest (one for 12/28 to drop the studios and 1 for 1/1 which seemed more likely to happen than other nights).

Originally we had 1 studio for 12/28 - 12/31 and 1 for 12/28 - 12/29. We nixed that idea when we went to cash reservations as 2 studios are the same price as 1 2BR.

Aulani, at Christmas and especially New Years, is very difficult at 7 months. Maybe it will get easier as they declare more inventory to DVC and points. But, either way, if you really want it I'd rent/transfer in Aulani points and rent your points to cover the cost.
