12 days to go and counting...

getting anxious

krayzee thoughts like what am i gonna do for 11 hours on some plane, what if it falls out of the sky - what if i get really ill on holiday, what if i have a panic attack... etc?

anyone else get like this. :scared1: :sad1:

Yep, I do this too! One of my biggest fears is accidentally forgetting something at home...like our credit card or park tickets! Another huge fear is someone getting sick or hurt on vacation.

When we've flown, I worry about everything from the flight being severely delayed, to being pulled aside by security and then missing the flight altogether. The first time we flew with the kids, I worried about getting everyone through security in a timely manner.

This time we'll be driving, and of course now I'm worried about car accidents, flat tires, min-van breaking down, getting lost, etc.

Can you tell I'm a bit of a worrier by nature?:rotfl:

i didn't think of the security issue!

i feel sooo anxious!

i am a worrier too.

KEEP CALM JULIE!!:lmao:

We are leaving on Friday morning and I'm not telling the kids until then.

Yes, I'm worried too... but mostly about things I can control like not having the right clothing, having no idea about fastpasses, and being completely lost when it comes to early park entry.

Sorry I can't help calm you because I am the same way. It seems my darkest imaginations come to mind to freak me out over everything thing from airplane troubles to what if someone breaks in the hotel room at night to did I turn off the bathroom faucet at home?

did I turn off the bathroom faucet at home?

You should really turn off the main water line in your house... I know a few people who came home to a house full of ice b/c a pip burst in winter.

We don't have to worry about a burst pipe, we really don't travel in the winter. Plus the Pacific Northwest usually has really mild winters. And the last three times I've been to DL its just been me and the kids. DH is not a DL fan, so worrying about the facuet thing is silly, but we have more than one bathroom. What if DH doesn't notice the faucet is on in the one the kids used?

Basically I love DL but am not a fan of travelling, heres to wishing living in SoCal was affordable!

I think that pre-travel jitters are normal. You have put all this time and effort into planning a trip, so anything that you can take care of, you have. Now it is just a matter of getting to it without any of those unexpected or uncontrollable things occurring.

My suggestion is lots of deep breathing! :goodvibes In less than two weeks, you will be in DL!!! When anxiety starts to take over, just remember to let go of what you can't control. I know you are going to have a great time. Can't wait to hear all about it!

Same here. We are driving this year, and I can't tell you how many things will be going through my head when it's time to go.

We have 28 days until we leave and we are already getting things put asideand ready to be packed!! I still need to book transportation from Long Beach Airport to our hotel. Otherwise we are anxious to go!!:goodvibes :goodvibes !

yikes - i haven't got my suitcase down from the loft yet!

:lmao: I guess you can count me in with extreme worriers. Went I went to DL in February, I left a note taped to my TV that said "Please don't steal from a single mom. I'll pray for you." DD4 and I have only been living alone for 6 months, so I was really worried about being robbed while we were gone.

We don't have to worry about a burst pipe, we really don't travel in the winter.

But what if the pipe bursts just after he leaves for work, and he doesn't come home until 6:00... you'll have a waterfall..

Just Kidding

::yes:: I get so anxious before I travel. I don't fear that something will go wrong but I perseverate on forgetting something as if where ever I am going doesn't have a store or access to typical goods. :rotfl2: Its completely irrational but its how I roll. :goodvibes

I get anxious too. And a few days, even a few weeks, prior to a vacation I start having dreams that I forgot to pack and that I have to leave for the airport and am running late. Then if I try to pack, I can't find anything.

I always have these dreams before a vacation.

One time I put a note on my VCR that said "please leave my tape if you steal my VCR". I had taped my favorite shows and I didn't want to miss them! :rotfl:

I didn't really worry until we came home. Then my almost 20 year old son - who went with us - told me he discovered some illegal fireworks in his backpack. NOT a really big deal right? YES, we went through airport security in Utah and So. Cal. and he didn't discover them until after we got home. Then of course neither did security. :confused3 I can't even imagine what might have happened if they had been discovered. :scared1: But it might say something about our airport security system.

I always worry about weird things before we go. And am somewhat compulsive, so spend a fair amount of time double checking. It can drive my husband crazy.

We always tell our neighbors that we are going out of town (especially older neighbors) that way they can watch our house for us!! And will know that there shouldn't be anyone in our backyard.

I think I'll be a little anxious for my May trip to DL. I'll be flying and I haven't flown for over 8 years.

We are driving in June, so that doesn't make me *as anxious, but it probably should.
