Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

Ooh your parade pics are making me excited -can't wait to see the parade for the first time. I agree though the headless horseman horse is just too sweet looking! Maxine is very cute too Luvchefmic! You certainly fluked a great spot for pics PIO.

Not long to go till your trip, Wendy. I can't wait to see your pictures!

Thanks she's a good girl ( MOST days ) I feel bad she took up so much space on the thread :wave2:

Ruthie

:confused3 Why? It's a open chatroom forum and you posted within the board guidelines.

Besides, there is plenty of space on this thread. And if Alison is reading, I think she'll be happy to note that *we* made the right decision to start a new thread for this TR rather than moving the PTR and continuing from there. I would have been officially over the 250 page mark by now if I continued from the PTR. :lmao:

Projecting the Same Mistake at Night

After I caught up with the others, we decided to stake out spots in front of the Castle. I'm not quite sure how we managed it but it ended up with most of us going to different areas around Main Street and the hub. I think Fran and Alison found a spot in the hub. I know Ed found a spot in front of the Partners statue. DH ended up down the path to Crystal Palace.
Me? I found a spot right down Main Street near the bakery.

I found out something about myself tonight. Seem that if nothing else, I am a fast learner.

NOT!

I didn't realise until I came home to Melbourne and checked my pictures that I made the same mistake with the Castle Projection the second time round. I should have shot this handheld rather than putting the camera on the tripod and using a longer exposure. A lot of the shots were nondescript colour from this show. You live and learn!

You're not seeing double.

And the circus really was much more colourful than this.

The lamp was much brighter and shinier than this.

Still. But there are enough to share here with you. It wasn't all bad. And that's good.

This really was a Hakuna Matata moment.

And I ended up with this shot of the castle projection on the castle.

Now that I can see the light.....from my armchair 9000 miles away....

.....I will hope that I get a chance to re-do this attraction at some stage.

I did end up with two favourite pictures of the castle projection. This one.....

....and this.

Next time, remind me to shoot this handheld.

Perhaps SunDial might share some of his pictures from this night. I know his pictures turned out stunning.

Everybody Scream - Happy HalloWishes: A Grim Grinning Ghosts Spooktacular in the Sky time

Anyone else looking forward to Happy HalloWishes: A Grim Grinning Ghosts Spooktacular in the Sky fireworks show?

I was. And I will admit that I was thinking about ME at this time. I was definitely seeking the prime position to capture the show; hence why I had staked out that hump spot down Main Street with the castle bang dead centre and left everyone to their own devices.

Everybody Scream time!

I know I was. I got lucky tonight. With that spot on the hump, I ended up with a clear view to the castle and there was no one tall, hoisting kids up on their shoulders nor any flying fruit bats in my way!

Not a bad haul tonight. And I captured my favourite fireworks picture on this trip tonight. I finally got a shot of fireworks with that Cinderella castle in the background!

DS has One Must-Do for the Night

My DS saw something in the parade tonight and asked if he could do one thing. How could I refuse?

Unfortunately, it meant that I had to leave the main Dis-sers back at the Hub (yet again) and move closer to the castle.

It's the Villains Show.

Don't hate me; but I actually like Dr Facilier. I think he's one of the coolest and hippest Villains that Disney has created in the 2000's era.

So, it's no surprise that I enjoyed this sequence of the show.

The Halloween colours are just wonderful against the castle.

Some of the other Villains of the show. Maleficent and the Queen of Hearts.

The Queen! I wonder how long it will be before Disney decide to re-vamp her backstory as well?

Frollo and Captain Hook.

Cruella De Vil and I have a love-hate relationship. I love to shoot her; but she hates me taking her picture. I have yet to get a great picture of her to date and will have to continue to stalk her. Next time.

It's so deliciously evil!

I know that everyone enjoys the song and dance. I do too.

But I can't say that I'm a fan of this stage show.

I do love seeing the Villains.

But they really shouldn't be singing and dancing like this. Halloween or not.

Anyway. Back to the point of this post. DS' request? He wanted a meet and greet. Believe it or not, this is his favourite Villain.

Interesting to hear that all of you were in different locations during the Castle show and HalloWishes fireworks. I really enjoyed your pictures from both the castle show, HalloWishes and the Villain stage show. The firework trail shots were very nice and clear. I can't believe that I didn't see be Villain show in 2012 and now I regret not seeing it. If I ever go back during MNSSHP, I will have to see it.

Very nice update.

I really wanted to see that villains show. Despite all my planning, that and a couple other things I wanted did not quite the way I planned it. You got excellent pictures.

Thanks PIO. I never did get to finish emailing those from that night. There was just to much going on in my life at that time. I know that I shot the castle show with my tripod this night. I am not sure if I was just pressing the button or using the wireless trigger. I was in Shutter priority. Most I think were at 1/80. I can to ISO 6400 with really no problem.

A month ago I shot the show with Goopysolelady hand held are they also came out good.

This last one I love because I was in the right spot to get the projection seamlessly going right into the actual fireworks

This reminds me of my avatar pic! Only about 1000 times better :rotfl2:

Although you didn't have the right setup for the castle projections, you got some great photos there. And your fireworks photos turned out spectacularly :thumbsup2

What is with Frollo being your DS's favourite villain? :confused3 I agree about Dr Facilier though. I think he's a great villain.

Great Pictures Ed, I LOVE the fact that Walt & Mickey are watching too, especially with the last one, in front of the crowd picture...touching to me :goodvibes..like " See what we did ? "

The photos are all beautiful even if the photos of the castle projection show have not come out as bright as you would have liked.

I am loving all the pictures from the party. I have not been to one and the special parade and fireworks are too cool.

What great pictures of all the castle shows, fireworks and other such events, PIO and Ed!

I can't wait to try again on some of those shots and try them with my camera and tripod!

Everyone's photos are amazing! The Halloween Party is my favorite.
