That trading post definitely was a find. I love the jewellery and the rugs are very pretty, too. What a shame about the scary encounter though. I love the artwork at the restaurant, but the cost of the steak made my eyes water.
Corinna
Aside from making my eyes water, the cost of the steak hurt our hip pocket as well!
But it was a lovely steak and I enjoyed every mouthful.
What a find that museum was!
Yes, the trading post was a find! I was so pleased that our host told us about it.
Another great PIO find in the little hidden collection at the Trading Post
How on earth did you get a photo of those guys if you felt so uncomfortable with them? Was it using your telephoto lens from about 1km away?
Love the lookout you went to. Vermilion Cliffs is definitely on my list, and perhaps Lake Powell will have to be added as well
OMG that steak was expensive

I hope it was by far the best steak you have ever eaten!
Those guys wanted me to take a picture of them. They kept insisting; which is how I got that shot. They weren't satisfied until I had done so.
That steak? It was pretty good but not the best steak I've eaten.
That sounds like a great afternoon (sans the drunk guys). Yeah, "Market Price" can be a scary thing, you definitely have to check because in US speak that means "more than you really want to pay".
Looks like otherwise it was a nice dinner. Your DH got two salads!
It was a nice dinner. DH did end up with two salads; but then he ate a lot of salads on this trip.
The Blair collection looks amazing. I love the details in the rugs, baskets and jewelry.
I think Elijah Blair knew his stuff. It was an amazing collection.
I agree with Zanzibar - you have added to the list - gee thanks. I think I need one super trip to do the Grand Circle et al as the years are running out. Amazing pics and I also think the owl canyon sounds better but I agree the light shaft shots are worth it. Just totally wonderful.
Wendy - If I've added to your list as well, my job is done.

I think I need one super trip round the Grand Circle myself. Coming back to Sedona and Page made me realise how much I enjoy being in smaller towns with good facilities; and loads of stunning national park/outdoors within striking distance.
and Zanzibar has also captured my thoughts..how did you photograph those dudes?? Loved Horseshoe Bend pics and beautiful jewelry and rugs - interesting to see. As a December babe my DD birthstone is turquoise but I rarely see anything that really grabs me made of it to buy her.
Wendy - If you've never been to this part of the world, you and your DD need to head out to this part of the world. The range of turquoise jewellery is stunning.
That trading post and the upstairs collection was so special, love the bead work and the jewelry.
Those guys are a pretty common appearance, sad but true. even here in the DC are you get a lot of that. Sorry you were uncomfortable.
"Market Price" as Alison stated, is never a good thing...
Thanks Brandi. I think it was more the unexpectedness of it at that particular point. Usually I have the 'radar' out and just avoid or breeze past them.
Yup. I should have asked the price; but it really was a pretty decent steak so it was fine.
But you do live and learn.
Does it work the other way, for MIL's and
DIL's too??!.....

.
I'm sure it would. They are called Mother-in-Law bells. Anyone who hears the bells can use it as a cue to run away.
