My wife and I are taking our son to see the Wiggles tonight at the DCU center. I was wondering if there was anywhere to grab something to eat before hand in the general vicinity of the DCU center. We are from Boston so we aren't familiar with the area.
Thanks.

I haven't been there in a while - but there use to be an AppleBees just across the street...
That is the only DECENT thing (with a family) walking distance that I can think of -
there are tond of places along the way and around though

We went there with the kids last year for American Idol concert and I was surprised at how few restaurants there are around that area. There was an Applebees in the outlet mall but everyone else went there too and it was an hour wait! We ended up finding an Irish Pub-type place but it was a bit of a walk and not a nice walk at that.

I'd stop along the way.

There aren't a lot of restaurants in that area now I don't think. I wouldn't walk around there too much after dark, either :earseek: I don't know what time the show is at, but there are lots of good places nearby that you could stop at on the way. The Sole Proprietor isn't too far from there, and is supposed to be quite good. If you get there early enough, you could always try to go to the Applebee's in the old WCFO building...that tends to get VERY crowded before big shows, though.

I live in Worcester. I'm not even sure if that Applebee's across the street is still open.

There is a Pub 99 down the street. There's also a bunch of Italian restaurants down the road a bit.

I live near Worcester and there is a Pub 99 near DCU and I think there may be a restaurant on Main St. I second that I would not walk too far after dark. Better to eat on the way before or stop somewhere on the way home. You would think with a place this large there would be some nice places to eat in the general vicinity!

Oh, I didn't know that it might have closed. Bummer.

In that case, depending on the timing of the concert, it might be possible to go to Bugaboo Creek or Chili's just over the city line in Shrewsbury (on Route 9).

Yup - Exactly. Forgot about those. That's what I would do.

Or you could go down the road a bit to Auburn (exit 9-rte 290) There's a bit to choose from, Applebees, Outback, 99, Picadilly Pub.

I agree with what everyone else is saying about the walk in Worcester after dark...don't do it if you can help it.

Have fun!! We saw the Wiggles there before....they "opened" for Blues Clues, or one of those things....lol
