Anyone from the Northridge, CA area?

Where is a decent place to stay? We don't mind renting a car and driving a ways....just not a 3-4 hour drive. We are going out for my graduation and we need a place to stay that isn't too terribly expensive!

I grew up in Northridge. Even went to CSUN. My husbands business is still there. Are you attending a graduation at Cal State Northridge? Tell me how long you plan to stay. What are you looking for in a hotel? There are hotels localy but nothing fancy.

Having never stayed in any of them I can't personally recommend them but can tell you about areas and you can check ratings and prices online....
Radisson Hotel Chatsworth (about 5 miles from CSUN) looks nice

very close to the Northridge Fashion Center (local mall), lots of good places to eat too. Close to CSUN. Between the two I would stay here for location and ratings.

There are tons of other hotels in the general area. Cities to aviod in my opinion would be Canoga Park, Winettka, Van Nuys and a few others.

Once you get your decision down to a couple let me know and I will see if I am familiar with the areas or I can even have my DH drive by them to see how the area is.

Come post this over on the Disneyland board. I am too far East to be of any help for a hotel in Northridge, but there are lots of other So Callies there that can help I am sure!

You might try Woodland Hills instead. It is just about 10 minutes further west on the 101 Freeway & MUCH cheaper. In fact, the further west you go, (to Calabasas,) the cheaper the rates get.

Thanks to you all! Yes, I am heading to CSUN. I will be receiving my MS in Comm Disorders! Yeah! I am now trying to talk my DH into San Diego..and drive up for the grad...so we can do sea world and the zoo. If we don't do that, I'll be certain to let you know what I decide!

Congratulations on your graduation. San Diego sounds great. Whatever you do have a great time. I still consider Northridge 'home'.
