Anyone from SW Florida

Hi,

Looking for tips, I live in Naples (for 12 years) and still cannot get used to the gardening here. I am so used to spring prepping and down here it is fall prepping. It is just opposite to me and I still can't get it right.

Looking for ideas on planting and when to do it and what grows here. I seem to plant and then they don't last long. Not sure about fertilizing, what plants are hardy etc... Thank for all you help.

I just saw the post "anyone from SW Florida" and thought I would say hi from Sarasota.

Haven't tried my hand at any gardening yet, although I do have a couple plants on the deck I haven't managed to kill so far.

Well hello to you too Adventurekat!

We are going to a wedding in Sarasota in June. It is on a boat at Marina Jacks for my sister in law! We used to go every Feb. for the Renaissance Fair, but I heard that they don't do it anymore

Yes they do! It is actually this weekend and we are going!!! How funny. Its at the fairgrounds in case you decide to come and check it out.

Marina Jacks is great. I love the waterfront down there.

They had just a little one with ticket prices and such. I think it was $14.95 per adult. I will ask my DH when he gets home if he still has the link. I know it starts on 10:00 a.m. on Saturday anyway.
