DH & I are meeting my Dsis in Spartanburg on our way to Charlotte. We're dropping off our DS with her. We plan to spend the night in Spartanburg. We'd like a hotel, B&B, etc., that offers room service, if possible. We'll be tired from the drive & would rather eat on property. Being close to I-85 would be a definite plus, but a nice hotel is more important. So, where should we stay? :cloud9:

:thanks:

I'm not from Spartanburg, but I work there. There is a Marriott not more than a year old, if that, that is very nice. It is on Church Street and not too far from I-85. I would try that if I were you.

My company had the Christmas party there and it was elegant and the food was delicious. It has an underground parking garage and the public areas are beautiful. I am sure the rooms are nice, too.

The only downside is there is a Krispy Kreme shop nearly across the street. Hahahaha It is also new and my DH says you can watch the donuts go through the process.

I have relatives there. For great local cuisine, go to the Beacon Drive-In. Try the sliced pork-a-plenty and some onion rings. The iced tea is glucose! Yummy! It is an experience you should try once.

Thanks, guys :) I was thinking the Marriott, but wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a gem I didn't know about. I didn't know how close it was to the interstate either.

We'll only be there one night. Maybe we can grab some lunch at Beacon Drive-In, before heading to Charlotte. We're originally from NC, & my DH likes his tea to taste like syrup. :sad2: I'm not a fan of sweet tea, but he would love it. :teeth: Do you happen to know, if it's close to the Marriott?

Hello. I'm in Spartanburg. The Mariott is super nice, plus they have a great bar downstairs. But it's off the interstate a bit. Right off of 1-85 business (which is right next to regular I-85) there is a Radisson that used to be Wilson World, it's pretty nice, I had my wedding reception there, has an indoor swimming pool. But don't worry about finding sweet tea, it's everywhere!

The Marriott is very nice! And that KK has a drive thru window!!!! LOL!

Also if you stayed at the Marriott, there are several restaurants within walking distance if you didnt' want to eat there. There is a Wild Wing Cafe (I woudln't do it on a weekend night though), A restaurant called Monsoon Noodle House that has some really good asian noodle dishes, and a sushi restaurant in Daniel Morgan Square.
