Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can help me -
Next week myself and 15 friends are going to Leeds for my friends 40th birthday. We are stopping over night.
We have a meal booked for 8pm then we are looking for some bars / nightclubs for a boogy. We love 80's music (I know we are showing our age) can anyone suggest where to go?? BTW its not just 80's we like we love cheesy dance / rock fun
Your help is really appreciated
Thanks:thumbsup2

Sounds like you need a reflex!! Does Leeds have a reflex?

I also just found this website: http://www.leeds-city-guide.com/

Apparently it's the essential guide to leeds' bars and clubs :) I hope it's of some use!!

Hi thanks

Sadly leeds doesn't have a reflex -

Im been looking at the internet - just wondered if there were any locals who could offer advise
thanks

I'm in Leeds but I'm afraid that sort of night out sounds like my idea of hell! We don't have a Reflex, but there's a Flares near the railway station for 70s stuff - http://www.flaresbars.co.uk/flaresleeds/

Most of the 80s and cheese nights are during the week or on Sundays (e.g. Revolution) since Top Banana stopped. Rock Of Ages might have been a good choice for the rockier end of things, but that's the wrong week for you (it was on this week) and the gothier music is played at Wendyhouse which is the 3rd week of the month so also no good . For indier music (but still the populist stuff), try Propaganda at the Academy: http://www.o2academyleeds.co.uk/event/20106/propaganda-tickets - there's also Pop Rocks in room 3 of The Garage at the Cockpit but that's pitched at students.

To be honest, you're probably best just going to the bars down Call Lane (or to Yates). At least one will be playing cheesy stuff, you won't feel too old and you won't have to pay to get in.

I was going to say Flares which is 70's and i'm sure they do 80's aswell but if you're in for a proper girly night then Leeds has a Birdcage,Their staple music is 80's and any cheesy pop with an 'act' on every 45mins or so.

We ended up here on my birthday a few weeks ago and despite not drinking a drop I had a blast!
