Wondering how long it generally takes you to drive to WDW and where you stop along the way. Thanks!!

Hi - we're from Pa. We drove down last year and it took us 19 hours. We stopped in SC. This year we are going to try and make it to GA. It takes about an hour I think to get through GA maybe 1 1/2. Then once you hit the FL line it takes 3 hours to get to Disney. We did about 12 or so hours the first day and then about 6 the second day.

Hey, we are from PGH drove stright through no stops. roughly 17 hrs.
tough but better than stopping. just took turns driving and sleeping.

We're from upstate NY, about 50 miles N. of Albany, NY. Last December we made it down in just under 20 hours, taking only quick bathroom breaks and eating in the car. Not sure how we managed this, as I drove through torrential downpours all night. Its about 1300 miles each way. Our average time is more like 21 - 22 hours. We've done this a couple of times now, plus a trip to Hilton Head last spring.

We're lucky, because our kids are remarkably good car travellers. Last time they kept asking "are we there yet", but they were doing it to be funny (like Donkey in Shrek 2). Hilarious, huh? All in all, this is how we would choose to travel, unless they start cutting airfares in half.

We're probably going to do this again in October, when we visit Ft. Wilderness (if we have a pop-up or travel trailer by them). I'm guessing that with a trailer, it will probably add on at least a few hours of travel time, as we'll be going slower (like maybe even under the speed limit!).

We're from Allentown, PA. Generally, it takes us about 19 hours to drive down (I follow the speed limits, and usually don't exceed 60 mph even when allowed). Our normal stopover is Florence, SC but we have on occassion made it to Savannah, GA. The Savannah stopover is definitely our preferred stop - it's a really short hop to FW. ::MickeyMo

I'm from right outside of Philadelphia. We usually stop in Florence SC but this time I think we will try to get to Savannah Georgia. We don't like driving straight through (we've done it a couple of times) we're to exhausted when we get there to do much of anything that first day. :flower:

we also are right outside of Philly. it takes us 16 hours to drive to WDW. we have driven tru without stopping over to sleep - but that was harsh. generally we stop someplace around the 10 hour mark, in South Carolina or Georgia. then it is just about 5 or 6 more hours the next day. enough to spend your day in the car, but we can wind down and relax by the pool that first night.

We're from Sussex County, NJ - the last time we drove it took us about 19-20 hours. We left at 10PM - this way my DD slept after the 1st hour of excitement, we woke her up about 7am when we stopped. We had 3 drivers, only stopped to eat, bathroom breaks & gas up. Going at this time was great - made it through Washington DC with no problems! We went all the way through - just couldn't wait to get there. Coming home we stopped overnight in Williamsburg, Va. Had to stop at the WBPottery! Our 1st time - we lived in Camden County and it took us about 18 hrs - we stayed overnight at Daytona Beach, before going to WDW.

i'm from NY!!! although, Upstate NY near Buffalo. anyway, i've never driven down there. lemme tell you how i'd love to considering my pure hatred for planes.......a 21 year old freaking out is such a sight to see on a plane, lemme tell you! anyway, my boyfriend's uncle drives down every year. although he makes it a 2 week trip with a bit of a "road trip" the first week and Disney the second. it generally takes about 22 hours to get from Upstate NY to Disney without many stops inbetween.

hey! you're pretty close to me! *high five for fellow Upstate New Yorker!! Niagara, right outside of Buffalo here!

Santee SC seems to be where everyone I know stops. Lots of motels right on the highway. Food delivery etc. Its a good place to stop.
