Anyone from Myrtle Beach?

Looking for a recommedation for a hotel to stay at over spring break. Would like a heated pool or indoor pool if possible since the weather sounds like it could be in the 60's. A friend said we should stay near some shopping area that has mini-golf but he couldn't remember the name of the area. On the tourist website the hotels are listed by north, central and south. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't live there, but have stayed there a whole lot of times. I would stay in North Myrle beach, which is 10 miles or so north of Myrtle Beach proper. Less traffic. Tons of places to stay. One road right into Myrtle... route 17.

Myrtle Beach is great..... but very quickly becoming way to crowded to be enjoyable.

If you have questions other that where to stay, I'll answer what I can..... whicg should be most anything.

Thanks. I do have a few questions. Is the North area by Broadway at the Beach? Is it warm enough to swim outside around spring break time? I haven't checked into any amusements but do you know if most mini-golf/water parks are open then? (end of March) We probably want to do a hotel since this is kind of a budget trip.

Hi. I live in Myrtle Beach and can answer some questions for you. Mini golf is always open. Water parks will depend on how warm it is. At the end of March is doubtful. Our kids don't have Spring Break till mid April and by then the waterparks may open for a few hours if the temps are warm. The amusement parks will usually be open during spring break as well. I haven't seen any dates posted for them yet

Broadway at the Beach is a great place to visit. Lots to do and see. Tons of resturants, and shopping, 2 mini golf courses and Ripleys Aquaruim. I believe there is a Hampton Inn there also.

I'm not crazy about the downtown area. It's very crowded. I would agree about North Myrtle Beach. It's only 10 minutes from the main attractions. It's got a great Embassy Suites at Kingston Plantation. Also located there is Barefoot Landing (a smaller version of Broadway at the Beach with shopping, resturants and Alligator Adventure.

There's a Marriott in Myrtle Beach thats excellent as well. If your looking for other hotels that are Beachfront with lazy rivers ,Crown Reef, Bluewater Resort, Montery Bay Suites are a few that come to mind.

We love North Myrtle Beach and stay at the Beach Cove Resort. It's oceanfront and very close to Barefoot Landing (great shopping). It's a great family beach. Good luck!

What do you know about the Caribbean Resort? Have you ever been to the Monterey Bay, we've read parking is bit tight and difficult?
