Anyone from DIS going to Leakycon?

Thanks HPfan! I am looking forward to it. I will actually be there with my family, but they are not doing any of the con stuff, they will just be doing US, IOA & SW while we are there. I am going to have to balance doing the things at the con & hanging out with them, but I am mostly doing the con. So I will sort of be alone. ( if that makes any sense what-so-ever). As for us, we bit the bullet & are staying onsite since we will have no car. It would be too complicated to make travel arrangements for all 4 of us doing different things everyday, so onsite was almost a necessity.

sounds like a good plan. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and stay onsite too. I'm going to use my tax money and some savings to cover costs. I think the con will be fun...wish the detailed schedule would come out.

I'm also going to LeakyCon! In fact, that's the main reason for the trip, but I'm definitley squeezing a day or two in MK in as well.

I'm in Orlando the 11th-19th, and I'm coming from the UK with a big group of HP nerds, but since I'm the only one with any Disney/Orlando experience it's up to me to organise the Disney trip! I'm freaking out a little though, because I don't want to miss out on anything I want to do in Disney, but I'm worried that being with a large group of Disney virgins they won't understand how important it is to get there early, and how to work the crowds! Also, we've got to get everyone checked out of one hotel, and into another (I'm thinking a Disney one for convenience - possibly the Pop Century) on the Disney morning, so I'm afraid we're going to hit the park right in the middle of the day, and get stuck in the crowds and heat.

But I'm so, soooo excited!

Also, I went to Infinitus last year, and met so many wonderful people who have become my best friends, I can promise you solo guys that you won't be alone for long, queues and breakfast and meetups are the perfect places to make friends!

:welcome::wizard: palantiriel

our little thread is starting to grow. :thumbsup2 That's a good plan to go to disney too. I'm splitting my time between the two since it such a long way to travel. I've never gone a more than 5 days for vacation so this should be interesting.

If you get stuck in the crowds and heat I would say hit a water ride or an inside show. :3dglasses

See everyone real soon only 2 months and a few days to go!:banana:

Yay! More DIS-HP fans!

I wish I could go to a park one day, but since I'm going with friends i/o family, I would be killed when I returned home...my DH and DS8 would gang up on me. But I do think I'm going to try to go to DTD one night, maybe have dinner down there.

I, too, wish that the detailed schedule would come out so that I could make an ADR once I pick a place. :)

OMG I know 1 month:woohoo:

still need a schedule though :sad2:
I know! At least the movie and OatC is in my schedule, but I need to know the rest so that I can appropriately schedule my pool time! :)

I had a ticket for the StarKid event, but my two g'friends weren't able to get them, so I sold it back. :(

What other events are you headed to?

i had tickets to O@C and starkid. I emailed about a refund for the O@C event but haven't heard back.

I missed out on DH movie in 2D tickets and don't want to go to 3D so I'll be missing that :guilty: I can always go see it later or the next day. I'm really looking forward to the finding hogwarts doc and starkid. Hoping Melissa will be signing books. I'd love to get that! :worship:

Hoping for house events too...it would be nice to meet the other claws!

I know, I am getting more & more excited the closer we get! :woohoo::yay::banana:

As far as events, I am doing OATC, Starkid, and Movie Screening. I am patiently waiting for the schedule to come out to see what else I can get into without spending any more money!

I'm soooooooo excited :woohoo::yay::dance3: Leaving in 16 days or is it 15 now :rolleyes1

Looking forward to getting my book signed and meeting some new friends. Also looking forward to the midnight premiere of Deathly Hallows popcorn:: since I can't get tickets to the earlier showing.
I am hosting an informal meetup for the over 25 crowd at the Hog's head on the 13th at 3. If you want to swing by and enjoy a butterbeer or ale with me and other Leakycon peeps please feel free.

Better get busy rereading only on Goblet of Fire :scared1:

DD-18 and I will be there! First-ever con and her high school grad gift by her request. Will be staying off-site but got a WWoHP early-entry partner hotel package through Universal for a good rate plus some bennies. We'll be arriving on the 11th to take in the parks prior to the con and staying on-site at WDW for 2 days after. Yep, long trip! We'll be meeting up with one of her school friends and their family during the con. I am looking forward to OatC and StarKid plus the 3D movie. Not real sure about the rest, but will take it as it comes. We're renting a car to avoid shuttle worries.

See y'all there!

Sounds like a great gift! I'm off site as well with a car and then heading to disney after too. ;)

I'm sure our paths will be crossing very soon everyone....Only two weeks to go!!!!!

That sounds great! We're driving down to Orlando on the 12th. We can enter the park at 2 on the 13th, right? So we'll probably hang around the pool at our condo in the morning and then head over around lunch time, eat at City Walk, and then go into the park. :) So we'll try to swing by and meet up with y'all.

I think I'm just going to start at HBP and read the last two. I've read the first four SOOO many times, as I would re-read before each new book came out. And then, with the 3 year wait for OotP, I re-read all four probably 3 or 4 more times just to pass the time.

See you all soon!

Belle sounds like a good plan. Yes I am understand the impression that your OatC pass will let you into Islands of Adventure starting at 2. I'd love to have some people meet up. I think it's a good spot as everyone is going to want to try a butterbeer and the Hog's head line is usually faster. Some of us plan to ride a couple rides or window shop before heading to the opening events so you are welcome to join us for that too!:thumbsup2

I'm almost done with Goblet should finish tonight. I will start Order next "hem hem" and hopefully get finished in time for the other 2. I do have some extended reading blocks coming up. I'm flying to my parents for July 4th so that's about 2 hours each way. And of course I have an almost 5 hour flight to Orlando I could use too.

Well off for vacation planning and more speed reading.

Can't wait to meet you all. :wizard:

SQUEE!

Only about 40 hours left before we leave!!

Took my son this afternoon to a concert by HatP at a local bookstore. I'd never seen them before and it was AWESOME!

I was on the Leaky Lounge earlier for the first time in months and there's going to be a 25+ meet up at Margaritaville on Tuesday at 8 PM. They said to just ask for the Harry Potter group and they'd point out the way. I don't know if I'll make it there or not but it sounds like fun.

See you all soon!!
