Anyone from Columbia, SC area??

I would like some information about Columbia- just in case I get offered the job there (actually in Aiken- but looking at all of the areas in between). We will be looking for upscale housing, better schools, etc. I know that this district has 4 divisions for the schools. Since I teach and DD will be in 1st, I need to know which area to look. Can anyone provide us with helpful information.

My Brother and SIL live in Columbia--I have been there to visit several times, but wouldn't know answers to those types of questions. I will call her this weekend, and get some more specifics for you--and post again soon.

I'm a born and raise Columbian - very rare to find native Columbians - not sure why but most people leave. Anyway, Richland 2, and Lexington 1 and 5 are all very good school disticts.
