Word is FP for Fantasmic is not so fantastic :)

I was hoping to save my TS dining credit and use a FP (instead of the Fantasmic dining package) since there are other dining experiences I'd rather do. However if it really is a waste to do a FP then I'll stick with the dining experience. Anyone with a recent experience with FP and Fantasmic?

My family did the FP+ for Fantasmic! back in November. It didn't really impress us. We went in at the same time as everyone else and I don't think it allowed us to have any better seats than we would have gotten if we didn't have it. Just my opinion, I could be wrong. So….just incase I'm right….I booked the H&V Fantasmic dinner package for our upcoming trip. I figure, we have to eat anyway, so I might as well try the dining package and see if that makes anything better/ different. :confused3

We used FP+ for Fantasmic earlier this month because it gave us gauranteed seating if we arrived during the reservations window (6:25-6:45 for 7pm show) and we just didn't know if it would otherwise be full (only had one show that day). It turned out that there was still plenty of standby seating available when we arrived around 6:40 but we didn't want to take that chance and didn't want to have to arrive earlier to get seats. When we arrived, there was much more open seating in the FP+ area but it is hard to say that we necessarily got better seats.

But we also went in the afternoon and were offsite and could not reserve FP+ in advance so could not get anything other than Fantasmic FP in Tier I anyway.

Yes, I was there during Pres' Week and watched Fant 3 times and sat in the Fp+ section for all shows.

The Dining Package diners are seated in the two center sections. All Fp+ holders enter through tapstiles near stroller parking and sit in the sections to the left of Dining. All standby guests use the walkway to the right of stroller parking and sit in the sections to the right of Dining.

The standby area did fill and with 5 minutes to go before showtime, standby guests were allowed to fill in the Fp+ area and the SRO walkways. This was for the first Fant show of the night.

For the second show, seating areas remained the same but because Dining is only for the first show, standby filled in the Dining section. I thought Fp+ should have had the central sections... it didn't matter to me as I had to sit in the front of the far left Beast section to wave at specific characters.

This past trip we did the fantasmic dinner package, and it worked great. We didn't have to stand in line and got great seats in the center section. We did lunch at mama melrose as part of the package. I will do this every time going forward.

I've got the dinner package myself and I was wondering where do you enter into at the amphitheater. I've read where it's closer to where the Beauty and the beast stage is.

I believe we entered where everyone else did but in a separate line. When you eat they will give you ticket you need to give to enter. There was a cm directing everyone.

Do the dinner packages need to be booked 180 days out?

They can be booked at any time, as long as there is restaurant availability.
Like anything in demand, the earlier the better.

(And, there can be cancellations.)
