Anyone for the Western cruise 4/9/05???

Well I bit the bullet and booked the Fury Catamaran sail, snorkel and beach party. :Pinkbounc The passporter rates this as a 10. I sure hope they are right. :earboy2: Also, a little FYI. I had read on the boards that you can get a DVD of the Captain Marvins excursion so I emailed them about it. They said that this is usually only offered on the half day excursion and not the 2 hour one but gave me the direct contact email of the business that provides this service. I emailed them and they said because I had shown interest they would try to be on the 2 hour sail that morning, but they could not guarantee it. They charge 40.00 for VHS and 50.00 for the DVD if anyone is interested in doing this excursion also. Just thought I would share info.

Happy planning. :flower1:

The more we talk about it the more I think we will stay on the boat in Cozumel. I think it will be a good day to relax and enjoy the ship. I think it would make DH really happy if we stayed onboard.

11 more sail dates and then it is our turn :jumping1:

I can't wait for a :mickeybar

Has anyone checked out the menus?? I read the new Pirate night menu, it sounds GREAT!!!

Is everyone going to formal night. All I really care about is having a family picture taken.

Hope everyone is having a good week.

Hope

Well, second week into it, my DH and I are trying to get into shape for our cruise!! Doing our Tai Bo everynight! I was just laughing at Hopes' message about the ice cream ears!! Boy am I dreaming of those about now!!
We told the girls about the trip this weekend. Actually, they figured it out when I was making my final payment at the travel agents on Friday. They are so excited."How many more sleeps MOM??" The 2year old DD keeps watching the Cruise DVD and yelling MICKEY. She is as excited as I am.
Anyway, still deciding on the excursions. Although I did ask the girls if they wanted to swim with the dolphins and I got one twin to say yes. I may just have to do it myself.
Off to read my paper!
Good night!

Hi everyone,

I hope all is well. :flower1: I just received my packet from Shirley with a bunch of Key West information. Even DH got excited looking through the pamphlets and brochures. :jumping4: THere is a lot of stuff that I didn't know was there. I think we will have fun exploring that day. :earboy2:

Have a great weekend everyone :flower:

Went shopping today. Hoping to find some dresses for the cruise. I found a nice sleeveless linen pant suit. It should be good for one night. I really don't know if I want to dress up every night. Last cruise we ate dinner in the dinning room every night. That had a lot to do with our servers. I don't know if we will do that this time. I would like to eat dinner outside at topsiders if possible.

Where is everyone going to eat after boarding? Last time we at at topsiders. This time dh wants to try Parrot Cay. I would love to be outside, but I know there is a chance that we would get a table out there.

I am starting to pick up a few things here and there for the trip. I picked up door stops for our connecting room doors. I am thinking that I will try the over the door shoe holder everyone reccommends. We didn't use it last time and we had a lot of clutter.

Suppose I should go. DD's have a party to go to tonight from 6 - 9. DH and I are going out to eat while they are at their party! :cool1:

Have a good evening!!

 Hello, We need to bump this thread up. I spent Sun. shoveling a foot of snow. With each shovelful I was thinking how much I deserve this trip. I received my envelope from Shirley :sunny: My thoughts were in Cocoa Beach & Key West. My DGD 6 has the countdown memorized, me too. :cool1: See you all soon. Linda

HI all I have just booked our cruise today. My mother won this trip on a radio station and decided to take me and my DS8 and DS12. I have read that there is a lot of girls on this cruise. Where are the boys? I need to reserve our excursions now we want to do the stingrays in GC. I read someone is go with captian marvins. Where do I find info on that? I still can't believe that we are really going on a free cruise!!! I can't wait. :Pinkbounc

How lucky can you be, winning a Disney Cruise ::MickeyMo Well, you have found this message board. That is a good source of information. Now, buy a PassPorter's Field Guide to the DCL. It has almost everything you will need to know. We are a group of 15, princess: princess: princess: princess: princess: 5 princesses no boys. :confused3 Enjoy, Linda

Hi jkssands,

Welcome :flower: To answer your first question. I booked my stingray excursion :boat: through captain marvins at www.captainmarvins.com . We booked the 2 hour in the morning but they also offer a half day one. I sent emails to them with lots of questions and they always replied promptly.

As far as the REAS. I enjoy eating with my family at dinner. That is a big treat for me. We don't get to do that much at home with our schedules. So I don't plan on doing Palos. Also, me and DH are not to sure about the couples massage. We have never had one and not sure if we would like it. I guess I shouldn't say we. He probably would like it and I don't think I would feel comfortable :earboy2: . We chose not to do the REAS, but there are a lot out there that do. :cool1:

I can't wait for warm weather. It's :cold: up here!!

:disrocks:

Thanks for the info. I guess I don't have a choose in the REAS thing my mother wants to do it. She is the one tanking me and my boys so I also have to make her happy on this cruise also. I could do without it but I should still have fun going to dinner without the boys.

I have read about the pins is that a big thing that the kids do?

Only 71 days :hourglass as of this post!!!

Turk thats good news! I have a 12 yr old son that will be on this cruise. I'll have to tell him there is going to be another boy about his age going. What does your younger brother like to do?

My little brother likes playing X-box, like 24/7, you could ask him anything about any game and he could probably tell you the answer :earboy2:

I'm a pin trader, and so is my little brother, it really is fun and its a great way to get to know some other people, the last cruise i was on had a pin trading hour and there was planty of people there, although you might want to have someone older with you because their are some people outh there who see a pin and just want it so they'll try to cheat a kid out of it, but it's still good for them to do, I'm the 1 that helps my brother ;)

Now that i've read every post since the begining of this thread(took me about an hour), just a bit more info. we are rooms @ cat. 10's 2537,2539, and a cat 11. on Deck 5 for my to eldest brothers, We're starting to book our excursions on the 7th, when we finish paying everything and Me, My mom and my dad REALLY want to do a Bridge tour so we're definately going to be first abord to get that reserved for us

-Turk

P. S. My sister is really looking for some friends now

Hi All........seems like time is just standing still now!! :hourglass I can't believe we are so close.

My box of cruise items is filling fast. I don't want to forget some things so must pack them as I remember them.

Hope everyone has a good evening!

Hope

Hi, everyone. Our family is sailing with you. We have 3 children. ds-10, ds-7, an dd-3 (four by cruise time). This is our first cruise. Dh and I have been planning to go on a cruise for the past 10 years but something always comes up -a baby, a new house, Y2K (yeah, we thought it was going to happen).

Finally, we are not pregnant, not strapped for money, and not fearing Y2K. Three different family members offered to keep the kids for us, so we could go on a cruise. Everyone was pushing us to go as a couple, but we like having our children with us when we do new things, so a Disney Cruise sounded like the perfect arrangement. We can be with them and without them.

Dh and I are thinking of getting recertified so we can go scuba diving at one of the ports of call. Besides wanting to go diving, he hasn't expressed a preference for anything else. I know he'll be happy with whatever I choose for us. Does anyone else's husband seem less than interested in the planning of the onshore excursions?

What's the going rate for hair braiding? It was a dollar a braid last time we were in Saint Marteen.

Ciao for now, Monica

Finally, more people are joining this thread! :cutie: We had thought that we were the only DISers going on this cruise!! We thought we would have a good chance for an upgrade if no one else was going

Anyway, welcome to all our new cruisers :grouphug:

We are a family of seven, me, dh, 2 dd's 11 & 8, 11 yr old friend of dd's, and my parents. This is our 2nd cruise and we have had it booked for 371 days!!
I thought our double digits would never get here. Now, I have our excursions booked.

Yazee1.....my dh really doesn't want to get off the ship either. I told him that if we got of in GC, I wouldn't plan anything for Cozumel. But, he would be really happy if I canceled our excursions!!

Well, must go to work........have a great day!

I'll hold out hope for your upgrade, but I must say it was a little tricky finding two adjoining outside staterooms when I booked a few weeks ago. I did notice adjoining outside staterooms in the aft section of deck 5 still available. Don't know why they are available. They sounds like great rooms (category 8, I believe). Any clue as to why they would be undesirable? If you go to Lycos, you can see the ship's availability.

Since it is your heart's desire to upgrade, I will pray that you get one!

Not my real desire to upgrade. Just thought it would be great if it was free :cool1:

I am actually very happy with my cabins. On our first cruise we booked a cat 11 and this trip it is connecting cat 10's.

Just happy to be on the ship!! Maybe we will get upgraded to CAT 1 :p

Hi everyone!! Welcome to our new cruise friends!! :boat:

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been busy though-- lurking a lot, when I have a spare minute. Buying clothes for the trip. I've booked two excursions both independent of DCL. For GC I decided to go with NativeWay for a 2-1/2 hour Stingray City/Snorkel tour in the morning and then maybe the beach or back on the ship for the afternoon. For Cozumel DH and DD6 are doing the Dolphin Encounter around noon, then we'll spend some time exploring Chankanaab Park befor heading back to the ship.

My DD, Katie, is getting very excited and likes to look over my shoulder when I'm on the DIS boards. She can't wait to meet other kids her age and is glad to hear there will be lots of other 6 year old girls on board.

Ten more weeks-- it's really coming up fast now! :sunny:
