We're flying Direct Air out of Worchester for April school vacation to WDW Sanford. :yay:
I've never flown with Direct Air. :scared1:
Since they're a charter Airline, I was just wondering if anyone has flown on Direct Air lately and has any suggestions about how to prepare and what to expect on their flight. :confused3
Good Luck All,
Joe

I'm flying out of Worcester on April 14...can not wait for nice weather to get here. I know a bunch of people who fly Direct Air out of Worcester. They have had good experiences as a whole. There were some issues with weather but Direct Air actually brought in addtl planes to get them out within a day...something I didn't think they did.
To the best of my knowledge, there isn't anything 'special' that needs doing with DirectAir.

dont know if this helps at all but flew direct air out of Niagara falls to Myrtle Beach in August- fine experience
flights on time, loved the small easy to use airport, staff was very pleasant and friendly
I will say our plane seats and aircrat seemed a bit old and the seats cushions were very thin- not a problem though
our planes both ways were clearly old enough that there were No smoking labels and a spot where the ashtray thing used to be on at least one plan
I had no concerns at all and the price was great with very good service
one downside was long line to check in
enjoy your flight

People will mumble and grumble to avoid them b/c they're a charter but flying them is so easy breezy compared to Logan.

Check in is a non-issue b/c it is only your flight checking in. If there's a line, no worries, they're not going anywhere without you. The gals who check you in downstairs will board you upstairs.

Security is a DREAM. Again, even if there's a line, it moves very fast and the plane is not going to leave without you (unless you show up insanely late). We arrive an hour before our flight and always end up waiting 45 minutes b/c it is that fast and easy to get out of Worcester.

The planes are older, but so far it has been fine. They will charge you for food and drinks (like other airlines).

Sanford airport is also small and so easy to navigate. We did hit a big line checking in to go home when we were there last April and security had a long line which was surprising but it moved and all was well.

Our plane in Sanford in April had a mechanical problem so we could not fly on it. They called in another plane and crew from Fort Lauderdale. We were delayed hours BUT they brought out snacks and drinks for everyone on the flight and kept us very updated on the situation. They needed to move 9 people to a Virgin flight out of MCO and had plenty of volunteers b/c they gave free flight vouchers, and transportation in Florida and Boston. The flight crew on the new plane was wonderful, humorous, and went out of their way to make sure we were all comfortable. We all got free drinks and snacks on the plane and got home that same day.

We have flown them three times ot Myrtle Beach and this will be our 2nd flight to Sanford. I will continue to fly them, especially with thier friends and family vouchers.

Oh, the Worcester airport is TINY so bring any food you may want with you. There is a very very small snack bar and you can get drinks etc past security. Just don't plan on a big meal there.
