Anyone fly Allegiant air?

Has anyone flown on Allegiant air into orlando sanford airport??? I was just wondering about your experience? In our town they are about to add non-stop service and it would cut about a 1 1/2 hours off driving time to our trip. hopefully someone will have some insight to share. thanks.

I tried to book at 11:02 eastern time, but no flights on my dates (even though they added SFB today as a new arrival city.)

Bummer- the quest for good fares continues!

I got my flights today. I only got one at the 69.00 price. The other was 114.00. Still a much better deal than driving to Omaha, Kansas City, or Mnpls. for those of us in central Iowa.

today I called to get my confirmation number. I talked to Karen and she emailed everything to me while we were on the phone. She was very professional but very personable. She said the cheaper flights went really fast, much faster than they had anticipated.

I purchased my tickets on 4/4 at 11am. I am pretty familiar with Allegiant Air, as they already have a non-stop to Vegas from Lansing where I live. They have a good reputation, and their specials are unbeatable.

We fly to Disney on 6/11/05, now looking for a good deal on a car rental

We are planning to use Allegiant Air from Lansing to Sanford in December. However, when I looked at the car rental places in Sanford, they all close by 6 or 7 pm, but the Allegiant flights don't arrive until 9:20. Has anyone heard whether the rental places will start staying open later when Allegiant starts direct flights in May?

I have spoken to several rental car companies in the Sanford Airport. So far, they all plan to stay open late on the days Allegiant flys in. Enterprise said their hours change with the first flight on May 26th. From that point the internet will also show their later hours. If you call them direct they will rent a car for you and put the later time in.

I went there to pick up a car from National. The terminal is a smaller one, straight line type. Everything is fairly close. Most of the rental companies that service Sanford are on property.

National is building a new service area and will offer Emerald Isle later in the summer. The airport is near SR417, that is one of the best ways to get to Disney (if you are cheap like me and want to avoid tolls, then I4 is only about 10 minutes away)

Very easy to navigate and I had no trouble getting my car and was out of there in about 15 minutes.

I would fly in if I could get flights from MA.

We've only flown to Las Vegas from Lansing. Am waiting to see what tickets to Orlando will be in November but I don't think it's up yet.

Would love reviews of the Orlando flight when you guys go.

I flew into this airport back in Dec of 2002. I absolutely loved it! First it is so small that you are in and out in about 10-15 minutes...in fact you are out of the airport and in your mode of transportation in less time than it takes to get off a plane at MCO.

Now I live near a small airport in NY, but until recently they haven't had any direct flights to anywhere in florida, so we have been forced to drive into the city or go to Newark in NJ just to get any sort of decent flight to florida... and to be honest with you I really hate big airports....they are just such a hassle...from the parking dilemma (you know on vs off site, vs getting a limo, vs getting a shuttle...good grief I am exhausted just thinking about about it ) to walking 2-3 miles just to get to your gate, it all generally starts my trip off in a negative way.

Well, the other day I found out that Pan Am will be flying out of the nearby airport and into sandford...I swear I wanted to do flips all over the house.

I actually have tickets on spirit airlines out of LGA but I went ahead and made new reservations out of the nearby airport and will be cancelling the spirit tickets ( I will get vouchers to use on a future flight) that's how much I love flying into small airports...I am willing to quite possibly loose a few hundred dollars just so I can fly into sanford instead.

So there you have it my completely "unbiased" opinion of Sanford airport.

How is Allegiant air??Anyone flew them yet?? I really like the cheep prices I am seeing!! Every other airline is quoting me $1200 - $2800 for a flight from Michigan to Orlando. Allegiant air is only $783 for the four of us!!! You can't beat it but I do not want to fly on a plane with a leather bommer hat and goggles!! Please someone please answer!!
