Anyone flown with Norwegian?

Has anyone flown from Gatwick to MCO with Norwegian? What are they like as an airline? Just pricing up flights for next year and wondering whether to consider them or not!

That would be helpful. The difficulty is that people can have a bad experience on a great airline, a decent experience on a rubbish airline and it's all so subjective anyway as to what makes a flight "good" or "bad", isn't it?!

Well actually, no. The issue us not so much whether the flight is 'good or bad' but the airlines willingness to address issues when things go wrong (which can happen to any airline)

If you go with one of the major UK or even US airlines, you have certain levels of 'industry standard' recourse available to you should something go wrong (eg. Extended flight delays etc.). That's NOT the case with Norwegian Air.

If you're prepared to take that risk then fine, but I really wouldn't!

@StarWarsJez - BA are not great at looking after their passengers. All but one of my flights with them have been in broken seats. Cabin Crew don't care when told. For a saving of over £700 per person we're prepared to give Norwegian a go. They're getting great reviews and winning customer awards. I wouldn't give BA a wooden spoon, let alone an award!

As we're flying from UK, we're covered by EU regulations which means airline has to look after you in event of extended delays, for example. By flying from EU, we're covered by that, regardless of the airline.

I had a broken seat in VA Upper Class, the staff kept leaving the cabin to look after Premium, and the food choices were cut down.

A single email and I had the equivalent Airmiles for an Upper Upgrade for 2 people in my account. I don't intend on using them for Upper, completely overrated service in my eyes! I even changed my booking for my next flight down from Upper to Extra Legroom Economy. VA have really lost out. After our next VA flight we are doing Thomas Cook Premium at half the price, even with adding on extra hold baggage!

BA have lost out with us. Currently asking £2200 for two adults in economy, plus we'd be looking at another £140-ish to pre-book regular seats or £200+ to pre-book extra leg room seats (we're both tall).

We've paid jut under £1500 for 2 adults with Norwegian, including an extra bag each way between us, and extra legroom seats both ways. We're also getting to try the Dreamliner, which I've heard great things about and is a significantly newer plane than the ones BA fly (those economy cabins needs an overhaul back in 2014- can't believe two years later they still haven't refurbed them!)

Ooh so glad I have just read this , we priced up norweigan but got a better price with british airways and hopefully booki g today . Ba flight and car option 2nd aug 17-18aug 17 £452 p.p !!! Are they very terrible ? I think it would have to be awful to put us off at that price :/

At that price, I'd fly with them again, but I'm not paying over £1000 for them! They have got us their on time and fed us and got our luggage there, but if I'm paying £550 each person each leg, I expect to be looked after a bit better than they have done!

On BA, I think because the Orlando route must be around 90% tourists of which 50% are likely families, the planes just get trashed. They'll probably never run new planes on the Orlando routes, just rotate the current new planes in when they can't get away with the current ones anymore! Same with Virgin to be fair, the Dreamliner won't be coming to VA's Orlando routes for a while!

this is interesting as I'm looking to book flights for next year, and think i will strongly consider Norwegian
