From another thread here looked at transmeridian out of Toledo. Have tried to do a search without success. Anyone flown Transmeridian. They would save us $200
Thanks

I believe this is a charter airline.

That means that they are subject to FAA guidelines on safety, but have VERY differnet ticketing rules.

If the plane is delayed due to mechnical difficulties, weather or they just cancel all they have to do is refund you the money. They do NOT have any agreements with other airlines to write you over or to pay you any "bump" compensation. There have been a few threads on cancelled flights so that might be a consideration if they only have one flight a day.

This seems to be a popular topic lately!!

Do a search and you'll find several recent threads on TMA. For our situation, this airline just moved into Rockford, IL and we are taking it for our June/July trip.
(They do flights only to Orlando (Sanford) and Las Vegas.)

If all goes well, seats will be $79 one way per person. I have heard pros and cons about it, but for us, driving into OHare and then waiting half a day as flight is delayed had become too much of a hassle. I'm willing to give this a try.
The last trip we drove and it was ok--just ate up too much vacation time and at 21 hours, was a difficult drive home because you're not excited anymore!

Sanford is about 45 minutes further to WDW than Orlando International, so there are other recent threads about which transportation is best for that link.

I'm glad to see TMA moving into some underserved markets. I hope they get the support they need to stay around.

My sister and her family flew from SYR to MCO on Transmeridian this past summer and saved a bundle on airfare. Her travel agent had just flown them for the first time and was recommending that airline to her clients. Everything went well, and sis said she'll be flying them again on her next WDW trip, because Transmeridian's fares are so low.
