Having had some good news today (Estate Agent has finally found us new tenants meaning more money coming in for the next 6 months :cool1: ) DH has almost conceded to upgrading to Premiair Gold for our trip in October.

Interested to hear people's opinions on this. Seat pitch is advertised as 36" (can't remember what standard pitch is). So, is it worth it. Do you actually feel like you have more room? How would it compare with, say, Virgin PE?

Thanks :)

I have used premier gold twice with My Travel and I love it, we are also using it this coming October, I have to admit it is better if you are actually travelling on a My Travel aircraft, last year we had a Monarch aircraft even though we booked with My Travel, we paid a lot more than we usually do for Premier Gold and it was nowhere near as good as with My Travel themselves, but still worth the money for the extra leg room alone on a long haul flight.

The seats are leather with seat back TV's with a great selection of programmes and films, and with a lot more leg space than in economy, you have your own separate check in,Extra baggage allowence, your luggage is the first off at Orlando end, choice of meals, free drinks throughtout the flight, wine with your meals, and a lovely gift bag with travel socks, cream, comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, eye mask, note pad , pen, and other bits and pieces. Oh yes and the earphones are free as well.

Have I sold it to you yet. :teeth:

Im afraid I have never flown with Virgin, so I cant compare.

Hope this helps :goodvibes

We flew with MyTravel last trip and had thought about Premiare but in the end didn't go for it.

I did take note of what they were getting over us skinflints and I would say I wouldn't bother. Sure, the seats were bigger and had better legroom. The quick check-in could be a bonus too, but the other benefits were incidental - everone gets a seatback TV anyway [just not as big a selection of films.] Also, the "bags first off the plane" didn't happen at Sanford - many were complaining about that]

Horses for courses and all that, but for me it was just too much money.

Thanks Sue and k-herm. Phoned Airtours this morning to enquire about price and they're currently doing the upgrades for half price (£89.50 each) so have bit the bullet and done it :) :hippie:

Im looking forward to July when we have booked the premair gold package .
We are flying from Glasgow.
I only hope there are no delays, last Year we flew Monarch from Manchester and were delayed 11hrs :scared1: !

Wow!!! That is a fabulous price, I would have snatched their arm off for that price - well done :teeth:

We did this when we flew with mytravel to Cancun and it was really good but cannot compare with virgin as never done it as it really is so much more than the standard.

It was worth it just to fly past the other guests at check in

we are flying premair with them this year. flew economy this year and if we didn't have DS would do economy again but the leg room is tight. doesn't bother me as I am only 5'2" but it is tight if you are tall.

No, because we are actually moving back to Wiltshire in August this year so will be flying from Gatwick :)

The last time we went to WDW we flew with MyT Premiere Gold and was very good - as said above own check-in, larger seats, more leg room. Having said that we've coughed up more this time to go Virgin Premium Economy which have bigger seats, more space etc., etc., but costs twice as much for the upgrade - but we felt we were starting the holiday with the flight so hey ho in for a penny in for a pound sort of thing!!

IMHO I would say if you can afford it - go for it! :cheer2:

Cheers
