I can get a flight on Air France for $100 more--- is that necessary? I think I'd actually feel safer flying through Toronto than NYC anyway. But if you guys tell me their planes are old or cramped, I'll trust you. ;)

And what does this mean? The Air France flights say they are operated by Delta and the Delta flights say they are operated by Air France. ???
TIA

I took Air Canada to Calgary a couple of years ago and it was a very nice flight.

i'm not sure if i helped, sorry!

You could probably post on the Canadian Visitors Board and get loads of replies

There's a Canadian visitors board? Thanks!

Yes, Von, that helps.

A friend of mine has flown from Houston to London via Calgary a couple of times on AC and he has no complaints. I'd ask for more specifics but he is in London right now (for two months) and only checks his e-mail every few days.

No problems with Air Canada. Actually, it's my airline of preference:p

Flown Air Canada quite a few times and have always had a positive experience. :)

I've flown air Canada quite a few times.I've never had anything less than a pleasant experience.

I used to get exceptional service when I used my maiden name (Chretien) because they thought I was a close relation to the Prime minister :p

Thanks, all. Hmmm... you made me think... they will probably expect that I speak French when I travel due to my last name. Canadians are sometimes confused by that pesky "x" at the end, though.

I've had excellent experiences with Air Canada however I must warn you that they are under bankruptcy protection right now. So if you do book a flight make sure you do it through a travel agent. I think their bankruptcy covers them until September 30th. They are still in the process of restructuring.

My mother was stuck in Orlando when Canada 3000 went under and she booked directly through the airline so she had a harder time getting her money back and getting home.

I'm flying with Air Canada in August. I prefer them over any other airline I've flown with.

Thanks for this thread, DocRafiki! I have a flight to Vancouver booked with Air Canada later this month and was wondering if the airline was as good as they sound on their website. Couldn't beat the price, so I figured I'd take my chances. I've been watching the bankruptcy information on their site ever since. I got stuck in a mess when National Airlines went under last year and don't want to repeat that kind of fun. Fingers crossed, sounds like I should have a good trip.:D
