has anyone ever flew to paris with easy jet? there working out a good £200 cheaper than air france. we will be flying from edinburgh, just me and my 3 year old.
its just all the bad press they had a good few years ago, im not sure if there still the same or they have improved.
any help or info would be fab :)

Hi we few with easy jet in March from Liverpool and had no problems at all. I wouldn't consider flying with anyone else with the prices being so good.

Easyjet are fine AFAIAC - they do the job! We've flown with them most times we have visited DLP and apart from one bad delay, we usually get there and back when we are supposed to!!

We've flown with them three times now, we don't anymore because the flight times are really bad from NCL now.

They're fine to fly with - but like you I was a bit worried the first time we booked with them - especially 3 days before the holiday when they cancelled our return flight! But thats something you should wish for! because they paid for your holiday for the additional days until the next flight :D free half a holiday!

So even if something does go wrong, they'll sort it :)

They're fine, flown several times with them, never even been delayed more than 1/2 hour and with a 3 year old you'll be 1 of the first called to board :thumbsup2

Thanks for all your replies. its gonna work out way cheaper than to get a train from here to london then the eurostar. the quicker the better with a 3 year ols autistic child! plus he loves planes since our last dlp visit last year :)

We used easyjet from Edinburgh for our trip back in 2010. All went fine and we had no problems at all. :thumbsup2

yes, I use Easyjet more often than not for trips to DLP, have only had one delay at the Paris CDG end, no delays from the UK, in 7 trips I think?

We always fly easyjet and have found them a delight tbh! Unlike Ryanair who I would quite happily NEVER fly with again after their appalling service in November when we went to Dublin. Unfortunately, for me to get my Ireland fix it has to be Ryanair!

Times from Ncl are perfect for us as we get in very late (but it means we have a full day from next day, and I can go after work if needs be!) and it leaves quite late which means we get a full last day in the park too!

I would happily fly anywhere with Easyjet!

I fly with Easyjets a lot for short trips: I prefere them if possible because they do not have a limit on the weight of the carry on bag, only size limits (and they check it).
So I can stuff everything I need for a short vacation in a bag sized exactly as the size limit without having to worry for the weight, saving to pay the cost of the checked baggage and saving time not having to wait for the bag delivery once arrived.

We flew Easyjet from Edinburgh to CDG-Roissy two years ago, they were mostly fine, the main problem being we got in late on the Sunday (too late for the park) and had to leave relatively early on the Thursday. My only other issue with them was having to pay for a bag that was slightly too big but that was my fault!

Enjoy the trip

Glad you posted this. I will be flying from Edinburgh to CDG in September and was quite anxious about it too. This has made me feel a lot better :thumbsup2

Dare I say that unless you are paying big bucks for the likes of Emirates / Cathay Pacific etc who are a dream to fly with. Then they are all much of a muchness really for short haul. Main difference being you have to pay for baggage in the hold and you don't get an on board snack (but plenty of non value airlines are doing this now anyway).

Of all the value airlines, EJ have the best hand baggage limits - ie weight restriction and generous sized cabin bags too. And I think they treat their flyers with respect (unlike some of the value airlines already mentioned :sad1:).

We've flown with them to CDG a few times and had no problems at all. Only issues we had have been with the CDG airport staff but that is an aside - awful airport :crazy2:.

We are flying with them in June but flying with Air France in November (this includes hold baggage in price and a small snack - also flight times are better - full park day pretty much both ends and it's a shorter trip so that is why we chose to pay the extra!).

Imo, there is nothing worse than being on a short haul flight and having a cup of coffee and snack thrown at you because there isn't enough time for them really but they are included in the price. You've barely taken a drink and they are chasing you for your empties :lmao::rotfl2:.

5 out of 6 of our trips have been with easyjet from Edinburgh. We have only had 1 issue and that was with the snow, but everyone had problems.

Tbh the last trip we went air France, it was cheaper, but what a faff in that bigger terminal with collecting luggage, buses to and from the plane....

Overall there is not much difference

The one thing I do spend extra on is speedy boarding, you avoid the check in lines at both airports, fast security at Edinburgh and first on the plane. I know some folk think its a waste but it keeps my stress to a minimum, avoiding a grumpy 4 year old waiting in line, especially when it was just me and DS on one trip.

You will be fine.

wmoon with an under-5 travelling you are in the 2nd batch of boarders for Easyjet anyway (ie directly behind the speedy boarders, and in front of all other travellers).

We've never bothered with speedy boarding for the reason you have mentioned Elaine. Actually, I can't recall, but I'm fairly sure they just said "those travelling with young children come forward" - didn't specifically mention under 5 (we do hit this category this year though!).

I think the first time we flew with EJ there were no speedy boarders at all on the flight :lmao:.

wmoon - when you say it is a faff with AF - would it be such an issue if using private transfer rather than looking for a bus? Just asking so I know in advance for our Nov trip - as I booked my transfer months ago! :lmao:

Elaine, I know but the speedy boarding has been great for us especially when you get to the airport and all the easyjet flights are at 2 desks and you know you don't have to join a massive line. Also security at Edinburgh, you get to skip all the lines there. It just makes me more relaxed:goodvibes

Dlp dreams - we had private transfer, ezyshuttle. The plane landed miles away so we were bussed to the terminal and for some reason the luggage took forever.....maybe just a bad day!

Dlp dreams - on the other hand, I much prefer flying back home from the air France terminal.... ( can't keep me happy;))

wmoon - sorry, when you mentioned the bus I thought you meant the DLRP bus! Oh, that's not so good then for us! But, on the upside we get extra time in the parks - almost 2 full days extra as opposed to the EJ flights (plus we couldn't get a Thursday flight so our weekend would have been shorter if we'd gone EJ). :cool1:
