Anyone feel the earthquake around DL?

I am really feeling for those poor suckers that were on top of the Mickey ferris wheel when this happened. I remember when I was on that ride all I could think of was "what if an earthquake were to hit right now". I remember our 6.8 earthquake in Seattle in 2001, that was pretty scary for me.

Ooooo.....scary!! We leave for our trip to DL in less than 12 hrs. Hope everyone is okay!!!!

We had just gotten out of brunch with the family, and were waiting for the valet to bring the car around/ Dis not feel a thing. Some of the other family members were in their cars and felt something, but thought it was from other cars around them. Hoping for no big aftershocks!

Yeah, me, my mom and my cousin where sitting at the table when it happened. It just kept going and going. We're in the Antelope Valley and it was long and strong. I can't imagine how it must have felt closer to Baja!

I've felt 4 aftershocks today, one of them just a minute or so ago.

We are very fortunate that it was a rolling earthquake and not a jarring one. This was a 7.2; the one in Haiti was a 7.0.

My son doesn't want to go to bed because he's afraid another earthquake is going to wake him up. I told him that there won't be anymore earthquakes tonight, but I don't want to tell him that I can't promise him that because I don't know. :(

I was wondering how you all are doing in SD. I only felt the big one, and none of the aftershocks, but I've been refreshing the govt map, and there are a bunch of aftershocks along the border. Take care.

Same here, I felt the initial big one, but none of the aftershocks. I was working at the zoo at the time, and all the show birds started freaking out shortly prior to the quake (the quake happened 15 minutes before our last show of the day). It was kind of amazing that they knew it was coming before we did! Nobody got hurt, just lots of shaking and things falling off counters. They did close down the Skyfari, however, and some people were trapped up there for a while!

I live in Bonita which is about 10 minutes from the border. We felt it pretty good here. It didn't really scare me because it was more of a rolling feeling, not sharp and scary. I don't mind them at all. It is the waiting for the next one that is nerve-wraking. I find it hard to believe that it was a 7.2 though. Didn't feel that strong to me. Of course it is the strongest I've ever felt in 60 years.

Gosh how scary for everybody  . Hoping that another doesn't stike and the aftershocks are not too bad :goodvibes

90% of the guest didn't feel it. I think there were all still dizzy from rides and being super tired from standing thinking they are just going crazy... :P

We were in Eagle Rock (eastern part of LA near Pasadena) yesterday and didn't feel a thing! Strange since some of you felt it in LA and even further north. Hopefully it doesn't trigger a quake in Big Bear (like Sherry said happened from a previous quake) since that's a lot closer to my house than Baja is! :scared1:

We are in Phoenix and my daughter was sitting at our dining room table and says "Moooommmmm....there is something on the wall" - so DH and I are thinking that there is a spider or something. Went in there and our grandfather clock chimes were swaying and the ceiling light in there was swinging back and forth pretty well! DD said that the clock was shaking and rattling against the wall, that is what she was hearing that freaked her out. Crazy!

On Channel 4 NBC news right now they had a reporter in DLR and she said that they evacuated all the rides and checked them and they did not evacuate the entire park.

She said an elevator on Star Tours was stuck with guests inside, but the guess got out fine and a baby in the DLH was on a bed and when the EQ hit the baby bounced off the bed and on the floor, but the baby was okay.

There's an elevator at Star Tours? :confused3

Yes. It's for people with GAC's who can't do stairs and wheelchairs; which seems odd because I don't remember any stairs in that queue. I just know when we go with a friend who has a GAC due to having problems with stairs, we use the elevator.

ETA: Glad everyone in So. Cal is safe!!

Oh no, poor baby.

Hey, I'm from the AV too! :thumbsup2 But I was actually in Simi Valley yesterday.

Yes, for wheel chair use.

whoa glad most reports are of people who are okay. 7. anything is huge... Just goes to show how fortunate we are to have a quake bigger than Haiti but no little to no damage...

Just posted this on the Podcast Board too, that I was at Disneyland and didn't even feel it. The park remained open but all rides were immediately shut down for inspection, which forced all the people into the streets and common areas, making it seem very very crowded.
They did start to reopen after awhile...after tons of people flooded out of the park. Wait times on the info board started showing up about an hour after, and there were a lot of characters out. Bert and 3 penguins were on Main Street entertaining with a very fun Mary Poppins medley on the piano. The weather was perfect, and it really was a great day other than the quake. I'm glad no one was hurt.

I was at Knott's Berry Farm yesterday when it happened. They also shut down all rides immediately and safety checked before reopening.

I live in Eagle Rock and I felt the quake as I was just laying on my bed when it hit. It felt weird like someone was just swaying me side to side slowly I didnt think much of it until I saw on the news that it was reported as a 7.2 from Mexico.
