Anyone familiar with granite colors

We are building a new house and we have decided we are going with the granite countertops and full backsplash. The cabinets are cherry and the floor is Brazilian Cherry. I do like the look of black granite but I'm afraid my kitchen will look too dark. Anyone familiar with the color Giallo Antico? Wonder how that would look. I'm open to other suggestions also. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I am in the process of designing my kitchen too! I chose Cherry cabinets with Venetian Gold Granite!...funny that there is very little gold in Venetian Gold! I also considered Black or Hunter Green, but thought it may be too dark with Cherry wood!

We used "Uba Tuba" (sp.?) in a cherry kitchen. It's kinda of a combination of green, black and gold. There's a sample at this webiste.

I have wood floors and cherry cabinets with ubatuba granite. If you want, I will e-mail you a photo so you can see how it looks. Just send me a PM. Also, the surface even when dark is quite reflective so it isn't as dark as you might think.
