Our DS who is 12 loves animals and wildlife. We are considering an airboat ride. Does anyone have any advice for where and what time of day? We will have our own car so transportation is not an issue. We are staying at Windsor Hills. We do not want to drive as far as the Everglades.

Boggy Creek Air Boats, http://www.bcairboats.com/, done the half hour ride and planning on doing forty-five minute ride next Friday. I live south of Windsor Hills, take Old Lake Wilson RD south over I-4 to Osceola Polk County Line RD, left till it ends at 1792 (Orange Blossom Trail), left to Poinciana Blvd, right until it comes to Southport RD, following Southport RD until you come to Boggy Creek Airboat which will be on the left.

We did Wild Willy's airboat tour in St. Cloud on our December 2012 trip. Loved it :thumbsup2 and would highly recommend . Its an easy drive from Orlando (about 30 minutes).

Small boats hold a max 6 or 7 guests. A 4-person group will get you a private tour. Hearing protection is provided. After your tour (which last a full hour) you can hold their baby gators and get some fun photos.

Staff are top-notch and very knowledgeable.

beginning at post 73.

We paired our visit with a half-day at Gatorland. Because we did a winter visit, Gatorland was our morning activity and the airboat ride was our afternoon. It was recommended to flip that itinerary (airboat in the a.m. and Gatorland in the p.m.) for summer visits, as the typical afternoon thunderstorms during the hot weather will keep the boats off Lake Toho.

Here is another very good airboat ride

AirBoat Rides at Midway ....... www.AirBoatRidesAtMidway.com

28501 E.Colonial Drive Christmas Florida 32709

Phone 407 568 6790

Now this airboat ride place is on the way to Titusville & Kennedy S. C.

on Hwy 50

As you can see it is in a place Called Christmas .... Here there is a

Replica of a " Fort " ( Wooden Logs ) and a Museum very good for son .

This is free and could be visited either before or after the 1 hour Airboat trip

You Do get to Hold a smallish Alligator.

It is about an hours drive from Disney area.

I completely suggest midway in Christmas. We were there after a cruise in 2013. Awesome place

After hours of research I chose A-Awesome Airboat Rides with Captain Gator Bruce. They are located in Christmas Florida which is about a 30 minute drive from Disney. We had a 1 hour private trip (6 people) in a smaller boat where we went up the the St John's River. We saw many crocodiles and had a great time.
