Anyone Experience "Enhanced" MYW Dining (table service)?

I tried to address this gently above, but apparently I need to be more direct, and since I started this thread, I know my own intent: The OP had to do with adding on food to enhance the meal, without adding on cost--NOT about pumping up the bill just for the sake of doing so. This was meant to elicit informational and presumably "light" responses. NOT interested in a bunch of preachy posts from a bunch of preachy people! And if anyone, such as you, MeredithJ, wants to assail "errant" MYW Dining users because you're just so bothered by what everyone else is doing, you might consider focusing your efforts and criticism on the bigger "loophole" group of MYW families who horse-trade their children's dining credits. But, don't worry, you're too late anyway, Disney is already well aware of all of it. So, please let those of us (hearty eaters and families alike) who want to "maximize" just enjoy it the way it is now!

Again, would LOVE to hear from anyone who has an enhanced dining experience to share, otherwise, if you have some other opinion/axe to grind, please start a different thread.

Whoa. I don't think Meredith's post was at all preachy - I think she had some good, valid points. :wizard:

That being said, I did fully read and understand your posts. There really was no need for such nastiness when you get a response you don't like or if you feel it does not deserve to be in your thread. We're all here to offer suggestions, opinions, and insight. The majority are not here to attack. :grouphug:

Consider this, you might get irritated reading responses you don't like, but at least it will bump up your OP so more people can answer your OP. :3dglasses

I am excited about using the dining plan in late November, and it will be interesting to read more reviews from those who have used it.

Lets remember to play nice, Gang. Fighting is not allowed on the Dis.
All opinions are welcome, as long as they are on topic for the thread. :)

I've never used the MYW Dining, but we have used the silver. I'm trying to remember all the add-ons we've had back before I realized that I should take pictures of my food! :earboy2: I know at Rainforest Cafe, I had a skewer of coconut shrimp (YUM!) and my husband had crab legs(?) added on. At Coral Reef, our server suggested a bottle of sparkling flavored water and also some shrimp added on for both my husband and myself. I know several other places suggested adding shrimp or a salad to our meals, but I can't for the life of me remember right now. As we were sharing our meals with our kids, the add ons were great. We easily fed four people with our two meal and were stuffed. :cheer2:

I am also interested in add-ons as my older DD is vegetarian. It's hard for her to get enough protein in her diet (according to me) and adding on shrimp or lobster would work out very well. Is this something the Cape May (or any of them) do?

Good Grief, Charlie Brown!!! :guilty: Such talk and arguing from all us fun people. Let's focus on something fun... the FOOD! :love2:

disneyjunkie- i've never used the MYW dining plan, but I do know years ago when they had the free breakfast with a package add ons at Cape May were included. The server told us we could add a steak, smoothies, cappucino... I never even knew that was an option there.

TT: as well as the "HORSE TRADING" of childrens meal credits (which Disney actually promotes doing in their own brochure!).

Where on the brochure is that?? i didn't see it! makes the plan even better-- and legit! (for horse trading at least!!) :goodvibes

I too am wondering about the "horse trading".

I have been excited to hear that you can add on things such as shrimp, etc. I look forward to our trip in June. One big meal a day with a counter service and a snack sounds like it will be enough for us, especially with the add ons!

Oh my, do you have it right. Actually, all of that was way too much food. We even shared some meals with my sister and her daughter. There were many times when we didn't order all 5 desserts. At Spoodles we were so full, we did not order any desserts, but the waitress encouraged us to take 2 desserts in a to-go box for the kids. They did eat them the next afternoon.

Ok, We are doing the dining plan in September and I'm sure I could post this somewhere else but since I'm here. Does anyone know if @ the Sci-Fi if you're able to get the electric drinks on the plan? I know it says 1 non -alcoholic beverage but those drinks are almost $10. So has anyone been able to do that? :confused3

Hi, Karen! Somewhere in the brochure, Disney states something to the effect of "Souvenier cups and items not included", so I think the glow cubes fall into that category. If you want the light-up drinks, you'll have to buy them seperately. If anyone has used the plan and gotten them at no extra charge, I'm sure you'll hear from them, but I think they are not included.
