Anyone expect any renovations at BWV?

I thought there was some renovations going on at BWV and I was wondering what they were. Anyone think they will ever add a small takeout area with Refillable mugs at this resort? I really like the location of the resort but hate that I can't walk up and refill my mug at the pool or some kind of food court. I loved that at SSR and VWL!

I would love to see an area like at the Beach Club. I've had the idea that they could renovate the closed kids club. It was brought up at an annual meeting, they responded that they planned to add more selections at the pizza window. I think that was over 4 years ago.

DO you think they are doing this on purpose? DO they have some kind of agreement with the Restaurants around there or something. It just seems silly to have these huge resorts (villas and Inn) and not have any option to get a quick sandwich and refill the refillable mug you can buy. Don't even get me started on using the Dining plan for lunch at this resort. It seems it would be very easy to add a simply area as you said which makes me believe it is not something they feel they CAN do. I gotta believe this is something the owners of BWV must complain about at least a little!

We love the Boardwalk area but for this reason we won't buy or rent the BWV. I really like to be able to do both casual eating at my convenience and those nice restaurants on the Boardwalk area.

We have BWV as our home resort and absolutely love our "home". That being said you are so right about the lack of counter service options on the DP. Since we have been to WDW many times and no little kids we spend much of our daytime around the pool as opposed to the parks. The 3 options for sandwiches at the Bakery get old very quickly. Our conversation always heads to exploring options about where they could put a counterservice option.We always wish for something like the Grand Floridian where you can sit out by the water..........

i completely agree!! This is an amazing resort I love to stay at but it would be great to have a little better counter service and kids club. We can only dream, right?

BWV didn't work out for us at all. Some of thereasons are just that . We need Counter service for quick meals and there just are none. The refillables were a hassle.

Our room was just god awful for the Point we had to use on it. I'have posted some of my other problems on someone elses TR and don't want to go over them again but we will most likely never stay there again with DVC giving us such other wonderful choices.

I wish the Boardwak would replace the cookers in the 1 bed & up. We vacation for longer than average and try to 'cook in' two nights out of three. The burners on top of the stoves are in such bad condition and slope so badly, it is difficult to use them. ...and the lighting in the kitchen area is so poor we can hardly see. We have to bring through a lamp from the bedroom. Does anyone use all the fridge? We never use more than 1/3 to 1/2.

I would be thrilled to see a quick service location added but I doubt they will. If there was a reason to do so it would have been done at some point in the past 10 years.

Does OKW have a quick service location?

I really liked BWV.....but I did miss a real CS for sure.
OKW has a quick service....it is outside....but they have a decent selection...you can get a smoothie for a snack. Also they seem to cook food to order.....When I got chicken they didn't have it sitting in the bin they cooked it fresh

guess we're in the minority ~ we prefer the limited CS

while we enjoy CS when it is a bit far from our room (e.g., SSR & OKW), we find the high noise level & large crowds of CS's in smaller "hotel like" DVCs make the resorts significantly less appealing (e.g., BC marketplace).

we definately prefer walking over to the BC, swolphin, or EPCOT/MGM for a sandwich, rather than losing the quieter elegance of the BW (btw, we own at both BWVs & BCVs).
CS options at the pool, or further away from the rooms (maybe Atlantic Dance Hall) would be perfect tho.
