I'm trying to find a place to spend the night on our drive to WDW. We'll be leaving Friday afternoon and plan to stop about halfway and spend the night. This will put us around Valdosta. I found a great rate ($35) at a Super 8. I'm a little concerned though as I have never been to one before. Any thoughts?

Thanks :wave2:

The latest Consumer Reports magazine just rated Super 8's as the #l budget hotel acrros the US.

Least travelers complaints for a budget hotel of those hotels surveyed.

Thanks! I made my reservation. :wave2:

The ones we have stayed at have been fine always, no frills, nothing fancy but just clean and a decent place to sleep..:sunny:

I have stayed a Super 8's in many other locations and have found then nice for the price. Usually I carry one of their nationwide directories and don't make reservations, except for stays at or near major events.

There is also a Super 8 on 192 outside WDW. I haven't stayed there but I think it is the motel where, you turn right out of their driveway and you are on Sherberth Road which goes to the intersection of Animal Kingdom bus entrance and Animal Kingdom Lodge entrance. (To go to AK or anywhere else at WDW you turn right which is onto Osceola Pkwy.)

Thanks for the responses. We're staying at the a Super 8 near Valdosta, Georgia. It's a little over halfway on our drive. Since all we wanted was a to spend the night, we thought this would be fine. And, for $35 a night, it's hard to beat.

I dont want to complicate things but another possibility would be priceline. I checked biddingfortravel.com and you could get a hotel comparable to fairfield inn for about $28 for one night in Valdosta. Just another option for you to think about.
