Anyone ever use Turbo-Tax?

Hi,
I've been doing our own the 'old fashioned' way, but am thinking of trying Turbo-Tax this year. Plenty of friends like it, as it appears to be fairly uncomplicated.

Any pros/cons?

Thanks:)

I can't think of any cons, other than the cost (which isn't much!). It's very easy to use! I've done my taxes on it for the last several years.

We have used Turbo-Tax for at least 5 years and my DH has found it to be easy to use and helpful. We have some self-employment income from part-time jobs as well as business expenses, etc. We haven't had any problems with it.

I have used it for a number of years, Mark, the Home & Business edition, and find it excellent. Very good program, very easy and accurate. Good luck.

I've used the online version for the last 3 years. It is wonderful. It remembers everything from year to year (which makes some people nervous) which makes it even quicker after your first year. It includes electronic filling.

It always finds something I've missed that saves us money! At the end it will suggest how your withholding should be set for a refund around 0.

I prefer TAX CUT stylistically, but BOTH programs are simple and straight-forward. I usually skip the extended interview and simply enter my data directly into the tax forms.......

Turbo Tax is great. I have been using it for 6 years now and have never had a complaint. The minimal cost of the software is more than than made up for by the time it saves me. Just make sure you check for updates on their web site (the program will automatically ask to do this).

I've used it both professionally and personally for more than 10 years now. Its a great program. You can even file electronically for a small fee. :D

I've used Turbo Tax for the last 5 or 6 years, and it's great! I can actually get our taxes done in a couple of hours instead of days.

We use Turbo Tax every year. If you have friends and/or family nearby, you can buy it and share it, as long as everyone doesn't want to use it at the same time on April 14!

Peggy

Edited to add: DON'T DO IT! I contritely advise that it is apparently not legal to share.

Its great! I don't have to hear dh complain anymore. :p

I've used TurboTax for many years. It works fine for my purposes.

A quick warning to anyone planning to use this year's edition. Intuit has added a copy protection scheme to TurboTax that will allow you to install it on exactly ONE machine. Period. Once it is installed, you will not be allowed to re-install the software nor will you be able to migrate it to another computer. It seems that way too many people have been sharing their copies of TurboTax and Intuit has found a method to prevent this.

Thanks for the warning! We have always shared it, which I thought was allowed with software since we weren't COPYING it. Guess we'll just have to arrange to use one computer for everyone's taxes. :p

This is called software piracy and it is illegal. Please don't encourage it. :(

I always pay around $300 for our accountant to do our taxes. Personal and Business. Is Turbo Tax for dummies, I have no clue where to begin doing my own taxes. I always add up everything and give her the figures, but she does all the multiplying etc.
I would like to do it on my own, but I'm not sure if I can.
