Anyone ever use their DVC for Hilton in NYC???

If so, what did you think? I didn't think 48 points was bad for 3 nights. I might consider doing this. Just wondering if anyone else has?????

We tried, but there was no availability for our dates this past December. Found a really nice hotel in the theater district and paid cash.

Not sure if you're talking about the Hilton Club at the Hilton hotel, or the new HGVC timeshare on W 57th St.

I stayed at W 57th St, but on HGVC points, not DVC points. If you could get it for the points mentioned, it would be a steal, and I would grab it in a minute.

I tried for something in August 2011, but nothing was available. Also, tried the other RCI option; also not available. Finally, tried for Loews in NYC through the Concierge Collection and it was not available either. I could get Loews in October 2011, but that didn't work for us.

We didn't stay at the Hilton, but we did stay at The Manhattan Club. We used DVC points and it was fabulous ... kitty corner from Carnegie Hall and just a few blocks from Central Park. REALLY excellent location and nice accommodations.

I believe it was around 120 points for the week and I booked it only about 6 months out. They happen to have a studio available when I called that day.

RCI Nightly reservations can be booked up to 10 months before check-in.

I currently see the following avaliability in NYC at the 10 month mark with my non-DVC timeshare (see sighting below). I've also include the Manhattan Club below.

TIP: Getting a RCI exchange into anything other than a studio at the two Hilton NYC timeshares is rare to impossible. The Hilton units won't sit out there for long. If you're interested you need to book it immediately.

Resort enforces a 1 in 4 year rule. No multiple or consecutive week confirmations allowed. Violations will be cancelled. Resort cannot honor unit upgrade or change requests. A $300.00 security deposit is due at check in. Mandatory hospitality fee of $15.00 for studios and $25.00 for 1 bedrooms is charged at check in. This does not include gratuities. Kitchens do not have stove tops or toasters. There are discounts on valet parking. Guest Certificates required. Pets are not permitted. Service animals need to be registered prior to arrival, please contact the property directly.

We tried to book three nights in NY sometime back and couldn't find anything available. I gave them lots of dates and nothing was available. I finally gave up. I am glad to hear that others have had success.

I'll just add that I've stayed at this Hilton (on 6th Ave) twice -- but as a normal guest, not a DVC member -- and I think it's a very good hotel. Great location -- pretty much right across the street from Radio City and Rockefeller Center, and just a block over from 5th Ave. shopping/sightseeing and an easy walk north to Central Park.

Of course, I don't know how the rooms/amenities might be for DVC members, but I just wanted to say that, as a hotel, it's a fine place to stay.
