Anyone ever use PetsHotel?

Was planning to go away later this month for a couple of days and the girl who would have watched our dog can't do it. Was wondering about PetsHotel. Anyone ever use them and was the experience good?

Do you mean the boarding place through Petsmart? We've used them several times, and I've been very happy. We have an older poodle who isn't in great health, and her vet is the Banfield practice that's in the same building, so that gives us peace of mind. They've been very good about giving her her meds (for an extra charge). I leave the food she's used to, arrange for an extra playtime every other day, a treat on the alternate days. She's not used to playing with other dogs -- pretty much ignores them -- and doesn't like walks, so the playtime is really petting time. Since she's a sweetheart, they tell me that they let her out of her "room" most of the day and she just lays around in the office area. I think they're expensive, but they do a good job. We've had her in other kennels -- haven't liked them at all, with the outdoor cement runs, and I've been much more pleased with the Petshotel.

My dog doesn't like them. I think it's because they use crates a lot.

In our old neighborhood, my dog would get so excited when we pulled up to the place where he went for daycare and boarding. When I picked him up he was tired and happy.

Our new house is across the street from a Petsmart and I assumed I'd use that for daycare/boarding, but when we go he's holding back and looking at me like "why do you do this to me?" and when I come back he's hyper like he's been crated all day, even though I pay extra for him to be in daycare.

Thanks for the replies so far. We've never boarded the dog before and I'm just trying to figure out what to do...
