Can you use coupons from one state, in a different state?

We're renting a pool home so we'll be going on a shopping trip to the supermarket soon after we get there.

I'm wondering if anyone has taken grocery coupons from home and used them in Florida. If so, was it worth it?

I'm thinking every penny saved counts!..LOL

I'm renting a pool house too. I am bring my coupons. Most coupons are universal.
My owner suggested I check out the house first before I go shopping. There will be at least 24 hours supply of toilet tissue, but you will need your own supply eventually, so it is worth getting some from the start. There may well be dishwasher detergent, washing detergent, etc. Much depends on what the previous guest used or left behind. The cleaner does not remove househild items left by previous guests, only food or non-hygenic items.

I have already packed salt and pepper, coffee, and tea.

I am bringing coupons for kleenex, paper towels, trash bags, t-paper, dish soap, hand soap, detergent, besides food.

Mostly I'm going breakfast food, light lunch(sandwich making)
snacks and ice cream.

Anything you can think of?

Okay, I am a couponaholic, so I would definitelty say yes, bring them. Unless it is a store coupon(it will say right on it), you can use it anywhere. I don't know if most of the stores that you go to double coupons, but the bad news is that they don't in that area. I belong to a big coupon board, so asked people in the Orlando area my best places for picking up milk, yogurt, etc.. Most people agreed that the best prices were at the Super Target and Super Wal-Mart in the area. If you think you will be buying something, and have a coupon, why not save?

You might want to think about Ziplock bags to pack snacks or lunch at the parks, shampoo, band-aids, coffe filters, sugar packets (for coffee or tea or oatmeal, etc) and a can opener. Also since it sounds like you might be doing dishes, perhaps a scrubby or brush? Your house may have them, but who knows?

I didn't even think about a can opener! Guess I better start paying attention to what I use on a daily basis and call with a list.

Ours keep telling me it's fully furnished, but that could mean different things to different people.

I'm glad you (OP) started this thread!

You can email your owner and they will tell you if you need a can opener or not. Mine has one. One thing I like about mine is it has a blender which me will use because my husband takes protein drinks everyday.

The dollar stores are a great place to pick up things you forgot and don't want to pay alot for.

Another thing to think about is bring a couple of extention cords. I am taking multi plugs too. you know the plugs that make a two plug outlet into 6 plugs.
I have a lot of electric stuff to plug in. I think we have 3 cell phone, two battery chargers (for camera's) a camcorder to charge overnight. The laptop and radio to take to the screened in pool area.

If your shopping at the Winn-Dixie or another chain with a store card, apply on the internet several weeks before you go, so you'll have the card in time.

I second getting a Winn Dixie card. We stayed right next to a Winn Dixie this last trip and I ended up using my card a lot. I also brought coupons, but didn't use very many. But as long as they don't take up too much room, I say take them! It kills me to pay full price for something when I know I have a coupon somewhere for it.

Many grocery stores will let you register for a shopping card right there and get one instantly. I live in VA but have grocery shopping cards from PA and NY because I travel a lot through those areas. I have quite a collection on my keychain.

Along with grocery coupons, bring restaurant coupons that come in Sunday supplements. Unless they have an area on them, they can be used all over. Some I have used in the past are Red Lobster, Olive Garden and Burger King.

Hi.....We go to Disney/Orlando two, sometimes three times a year and I always bring my coupon box. Since we're there for 2-3 weeks at a time it can certainly save you money. I usually shop at Pulblix.
I also save any of those little catsup/mustard/mayo/lemon/salt and pepper packs that they put into the take-out places, and take those.......Like you said....every little bit counts!!

Yes, I have brought coupons from home and used them.

Most coupons are good nationwide. I sometimes get coupons from a site called www.thecouponclippers.com This site provides coupons for a "handling fee" of about 5 to 10 cents per coupon. This site is based in Florida, so it has many store coupons issued by chains such as Publix that are common in Florida.

Don't forget that your vacation time is valuable, too, so make sure to organize your coupons before you go!
