My DS has a Peanut Allergy and we been taking him to Disney since he was 10 mos old, he is now going on 5.
-When you make yours ADR's let them know you have a peanut allery person with you, they will note it and send the chef to your table when you get there. Remind the waitier about the allergy before you order.
-Tell the food court when you check in if there is one and they will make sure they have safe food throughout your stay.
-As long as Disney Knows they make everthing safe.
-Watch the Resturants in Epcot, it is harder for them to help you, I heard because of the different types of counties and food that they make it is harder to watch cross comtamination. Canada was helpful, none of the bread that they put on the table there is safe, but they had safe food for him to eat, we didn't aloud the bread at the table. And Rose and crown was helpful too.
-At all counter service resturants ask what they fry in and let them know you have a peanut allergy.
-My son loved the popiscle Izakoodize, he lived off of them.
-Some people say the Mickey head ice cream aren't safe, but I cheked into it and they said it was, my Son ate them the whole time we were there.
-If they say a food is safe and you are still worried question again. We were at Hollywood and Vine in MGM and my DS wanted the BBQ meatballs, the Chef said they were OK, but I knew some BBQ sauces aren't safe, so he went and got the bottle so I can read it to ease my mind, it was safe.
-WolfGang Pucks Resturant on the West Side is not safe, they use peanut oil and peanuts and tree nuts in everything. We didn't know, the chef came to the table and was Very Helpful, he didn't alound anything at the table that wasn't safe so our party all order around my DS, even the salad wasn't safe.
But they did make safe food for us, he washed everything and made everything himself to make sure. But I won't keep taking that chance there.
-Just make sure everyone knows and it will be fine.
As far as flying, I am not sure with it, we flew Spirit when my DS was 2 and there was no problems we had the first flight in and the last flight out. We told them we didn't want snacks because of the allergy and my son was fine.
We flew a 2nd time with him at age 3 with Southwest, he vomited the whole flight, he wasn't sick before we left so I am not sure if it was airsickness or what. We had the first flight going and I don't remember what was served. We drove home so there was no comparing to see what it could have been.
All the other times we drove.
We will be flying next year, I have read, wipe the seats with sanatizer wipes and or cover the seats with a blanket from home. Call the airlines and let them know about the allergy and ask for a peanut free flight, talk to them when you get there to remind them and even after you get on the plane tell them again.
My Dr. says to just have everything close to hand, and that if there was an reaction, must reactions are mild to hives from skin contact, rarely a breathing problem. It made me scared when he said that, but we have flewn twice already, and I will take all precautions to fly again.
Tell them to call their Dr about flying they will give them all details to dop it safely.
