Anyone ever trade into Mexico?

I am looking at taking my Mom and Dad to the Puerto Vallarta area for their 35th anniversary in two years. Has anyone ever traded into resorts in this area? I was wondering what the ballpark number of points I would need were. I know I can call Member Services next week, I was just trying to see if I was "in the ballpark" or not. Thanks for any info!

Consider Paradise Village in Nuevo Vallarta. It's a wonderful resort and self contained. NV is just a few miles north and is a much nicer area with great beaches. Still only a short cab or bus ride to PV. Ocho Cascades would be difficult most likely, steep steps but a wonderful adult option as well. PV has a lot going on and OC is the ultimate in relaxation.

Also consider Cancun at the Royals. Points will vary with options but will generally be Adventure for summer and Dream for winter with OKW points for the same size unit a good guide. Winter will be much harder to get.

I don't believe there are any other choices in PV on the DVC list that I'd seriously consider. You might want to try some of the independent exchange companies where you might be able to add some great choices like the Westin, Allegro Diamond, and the Krystal. You also might be able to trade a 1 BR for a 2 or a studio for a 1, depending on which exchange company. SFX will not accept Orlando studios even DVC, at least that's what they've said in the past.
