My 4 year old daughter is being granted a wish from the Make A Wish Foundation, and of course she is wishing to go to Disney World. We were there 2 years ago for two days and she got sick and ended up in the hospital, so when she got discharged we went home. Can anyone give me their experiences, what is it like???

Welcome. Piglet. I hope your next trip ends up better than your last one did.
We have had quite a few posters who have taken "Make a Wish" trips and one freequent poster who just got back from one. If you do a search on this board, looking for "Wish", you should find some information.
A lot of "Wish" kids stay at Give Kids the World Village.
CLICK HERE for the GKTW website. The DIS site did a chat-a-thon last November to benefit GKTW. It's a great organization.

Hi - that was me! "Frequent poster" how kind.... more like a typical obsessed DISer.... How else does one get over 800 posts?

Anyway - feel free to e-mail me -
suewho100@aol.com I did do a bit of trip reporting too on the Trip Reports board.

It is an unbelievable once in a lifetime experience. I'll try to keep your interest up without spoiling the surprises. Suffice to say - you will all be treated like kings and queens, and stay in a perfectly marvelous condo resort... little duplexes everywhere. The people you meet are truly angels. That organization - Make A Wish and Give Kids The World are quite worthy of any donations.

Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Sue

I would love to read your story but can't find it. My daughter is 3 and is going to disney through make a wish and I have no idea what to expect. We are on a tight budget I have to live off my daughters SSI Check which is very small. How much money should I try and save? I have searched and searched for trip reports do you know of any I could read thanks for your help

Hi! Click on the search button at the top of the page and type in MAW and lots of threads come up.
When my boys had their trip we stayed at Give Kids the World. They provided breakfast and dinner. Our local MAW chapter gave us money for lunch. You might want to contact your chapter and ask them what will be included for you so you can plan.
Have a great trip!:wizard:

Our daughter went to Disney on a wish trip last year. We went through a local organization rather than MAW, but it's all pretty much the same. The amount of spending money they give may vary, so I'd suggest calling you local MAW chapter.

Here's a link to our family's website where I put our trip report. (I should probably post it here sometime, just haven't done it for some reason.)

Ohhh you will have sooo much fun!!! We went on my daughters WISH trip in November and we have a ton of wonderful memories. If I can answer any questions please feel free to email me. And to the person wanting to know how much money to save up; the Wish foundation will give you money to spend on food, gas if you get a rental car or van (we did) and for a few souveniers. We actually had a little money left over that we applied to my daughters Christmas presents. The amount you get depends on how many are in your family. Eat breakfast at Give Kids The World, which I assume you will be staying at, and eat dinner there as well if you can. They have very good food. You wont go hungry :)
