Anyone ever take a folding stool with you to the parks?

I have a very good stool called a walk stool. It folds up and comes with a carrying bag. It is 22 inches high. It is available online. It cost about $80.00 but well worth it.

It won't be worth it for use in the parks, as it is not allowed for use in the parks.

My friend has used a cane that has a pkAce to sit attached to it. It's not a large sitting area but adequate for her. It's on the side of the cane and folds down. Seemed to work great

My mom brought hers like this and they almost did not let her in with it. Ultimately they did but insisted that she could only use as cane and could never fold down the little seat.

Folding chairs or stools are not allowed. I have seen persons with the cane that folds out as a seat but I can't say I've never seen anyone unfolding it and using it as a seat. I have also seen those wheeled walker-type contraptions people push that can be turned round and double as a seat.

Is it possible to get a card from guest services outside of the parks that would allow me to bring the stool in, due to mobility and health issues?

They won't give you permission to use a folding stool. They'd suggest use of a wheelchair or walker.

On our last few trips to the parks, it has been very difficult and painful for me to try and stand for parades, fireworks, etc. As my name says, I'm Grandma, and no longer a young grandma anymore. There's no way I could sit on the pavement. I could neither lower myself down to the ground, or be able to get back up.

My daughter-in-law suggested that I bring some kind of a folding stool that I could put on the stroller, and then have it for those times that I needed to sit down. I don't know if that's allowed or not......is it? If so, I would need a stool where the seat is high enough that I would be able to lower myself down to it, and then be able to stand back up again. Does anyone have suggestions where to find such a stool? Has anyone used a stool like this before?

There are times when I've been able to find a stone wall, or a bench, where I could sit. But usually these spots are already taken, or these sitting spaces are not in an area that's ideal for whatever event we are trying to watch. I want to experience these attractions with my family, and not be far away in order to be able to sit down. I also don't want to sit for hours before hand. This would take away from valuable attraction time with the family. And besides, after sitting for extended periods, I become very stiff and sore, and it's then difficult to walk.

I'm nowhere near the point where I need a wheelchair. I'm still able to walk around. I just need some relief for those times when I would need to stand for a long time.

I would greatly appreciate any help, suggestions, tips, etc that have worked for you or someone you know. Thanks so much.

I know exactly how you feel, same here! I have a heel problem and standing still is the absolute worst thing for it, makes walking afterwards extremely painful. Sitting on the ground, as my daughter found, is flat out dangerous these days, so none of that either.

I toughed it out the last two trips because I just loathe the idea of using a wheelchair( nothing against them except in my head) but it cost me dearly and I'm still a month later trying to recover from it. So, next time I cave and get one- I'm stubborn though and that thing is getting parked somewhere until right before I need it. I'll happily pay the fee just to have a spot to rest my feet while we wait for parades and fireworks.
