anyone ever stayed overnight at Lake City Florida??

Will be driving down next Tues. for 3 nights at WL before cruise.Anyone ever stayed at Lake City FL?Is it a ok area or can anyone recommend a decent hotel?We drove straight through last year and it was just to long of a drive-we didn't get there until 12 mid.Any help would be apprecitated!Thanks!


P.S. Is there still construction south of Atlanta and is it really a bad back up??

Lake City seems to be a nice area. We stayed there (summer 2001) at the Hampton Inn, which I can highly recommend.

My parents live in Lake City. It is a nice, safe town. Lots of people stay there on their way to Disney World. It also has a Super Wal-Mart just down the road from all the hotels if you need to stock up on some things before heading to Orlando.

It's a free Continental breakfast - I'm not sure about the "deluxe" designation, though. As best I can recall, I believe they had the standard pastries and cereals, bagels and other breads, milk, coffee, juice, and frozen eggs (quite good, actually). Probably a few other items as well.
