We usually stay at Carosel Inn and Suites or Tropicanna and I LOVE being so close. This time, however, we have the opportunity (through a timeshare type thing that my sister has) to stay at Peacock Suites for $119 for the entire week. Not $119 a night. $119 TOTAL. For SEVEN days. Hard to pass up. I just wanted to make sure it's not a total dump. Also, any advice on using ART? We've never done it before and I'm a little nervous. We'll be a big group with several strollers and little kids.

Thanks everyone! I love DISboards!

I stayed there for a night last December and I thought the rooms were really nice! It would be a fairly long walk to the park, but it's definitely doable.

I would post pictures for you, but I can't yet because I haven't hit my 10 post threshhold!

We are staying there when we go and have heard nothing but good things about the place, I am super excited!

We had always stayed at the Peacock Suites because of the large rooms, we were able to get a large 3 bedroom suite to share with family and the cost was very resonable...HOWEVER... the last time that we stayed we were traveling our youngest DS was just under 2 and had a very cute Mickey Blanket that he was very attatched to. We had purchased an extra to take on the trip from ebay just in case the blanket became lost. We were very careful to place the blankets into the portable playpen that we had brought with us to ensure that it would be there when we returned. The last day, we returned to our room and one of the blankets was gone. I asked the housekeeper and she, in very plain Engligh, said yes ,she had taken it to her grandson and would return it...I called the front desk, went down to the lobby and spoke to the mananger. He called the housekeeper, who at this time only spoke SPANISH????....He said she misunderstood me and didnt know what I was talking about.:scared1::scared1:
Anyway...The deal that you have is a GREAT deal...the rooms are nice, parking is tight, but BEWARE of leaving anything...I MEAN ANYTHING... that is important in the room...

The distance is not as convenient as the ones that you mentioned, it is quite a walk. THe ART is a great transportation system bu also know that they serve many hotels in the area. You might want to check on the route and see how crowded they become, especially if you have alot of smaller kids and strollers.

We have traveled to Disneyland many times, make sure that you keep valuables safe, dont leave them in the stroller, and put them out of sight in the room...Have a Magical trip!!

We own Shell and use the Peacock very regularly, in fact this year alone we've been for our Jan trip, the first Feb trip, the March trip and our May trip (see siggie for trip info). We like the rooms a lot but sometimes the staff is not so great. You can read more details about our stays in my trip report link, altho I haven't updated it in quite a while, I still need to get my bday trip up there! lol When we were there in Jan DBF and I walked to the parks in the morning, it wasn't bad at all but no way could we do it at night, we took a taxi instead. When we are there with the girls we drive and park, it's just faster and easier. Don't forget that there will be a mandatory valet fee of $8 per day, that is paid to the valets and can be paid via credit card at the end of your stay but it is mandatory. The valets are great tho, they are very fast and efficient and always pleasant. We did ART once when we stayed there, it sucked, by the time we got on there was little to no room and no one wanted to stand so kids could sit. My girls did get seats but DBF and I did not, and there was another family who did not get seats, they also had a small child with them that was held for the whole ride to the parks. If I'd had a seat to give I would have but my girls even had to sit apart so they couldn't even squeeze together. That's not the drivers fault of course, but I did feel that someone should have offered Momma & child their seat. The free breakfast is good, not great but good. It's one of the better ones at the hotels in the area. You have an amazing rate!!!! Congrats on that, that's just amazing!!! :)
