Anyone ever stayed at Conorado Springs Resort?

I'm staying there in August in a standard room. I would like to make a request for the Cabanas section or Casitas (really don't want Ranchos!). I know a request is just that, and I might very well get the ranchos, but I'd like to at least try.

Anyway my question is how do I go about making a request? And how many weeks/months in advance should I make it?

I could ask on the CSR thread in the resort section, but I thought I'd try here first :)

We stayed 5 times and love the resort :goodvibes

We have stayed in all 3 sections and enjoyed them all. Even the walk to the ranchos wasn't bad.

Our favourite building was Cabanas 8a :thumbsup2

We just added the requests into our booking. And once we asked to be moved at check in which they managed no problem :)

Thanks so much!
Do you add the request into your booking on the website? Or do I need to ring the 0800 number?
If I'm going in August when do you suggest I do it? X

We stayed there last trip, we really liked it. I emailed the general email and asked them to put the request on our booking.
We went for casitas but ended up in 5 which was the very last block and pretty much a third of the lake away from the dining and reception. It didn't take end to walk there but it would have been nice to be slightly closer in the mornings, the plus side was that we were right next to the bus stop and it was the first pick up.

Thanks! Is it just the email that is on the website? I'll go and have a look for it how x

You can do online check in 60 days before your arrival.

This give you the option to request a section as well as a ground floor room.

I have always added mine by phone for UK bookings :thumbsup2

(Did also book a US offer once so that was added by Dreams for me to the ressie)

We stayed there when we got married and i really didnt want the ranchos but we got them and it was lovely, got some fab wedding pics around that section

We phoned them a few days before travel to request a specific building and floor and our requests were accommodated despite the hotel being full - really pleased. We were next to the main pool and a bus stop and less than five minutes walk to the centre in Cabanas.

I didn't do online check in because I had heard it's more difficult to get your request accommodated - not sure if this is true or not!

But the rooms are lovely and it's a beautiful resort.

We are staying there in Sept/Oct this year.

I've got to admit I hadn't even thought about where I would prefer to stay but now I'm just wondering, is every-one saying that they didn't or don't want to stay in the Ranchos area because of the walking distance to the food courts etc, or is there any other reason?

We have stayed in all three sections - I think the distance puts people off the Ranchos but its not actually any further than the last Casitas building really as you can walk down the other side of the lake.

The resort is lovely :goodvibes

The Rancho's are a bit further out from the food court, I would think that is the main reason?

Before we stayed at the resort I was starting to panic after reading how 'spread out' the resort was (US threads mostly) as we had some friends and family with slight mobility problems. When we arrived and actually did a walk of the grounds I was surprised as it wasn't as big as I expected!!

CSR is a lovely resort and everyone in our party enjoyed staying there, hopefully we will be able to stay again next year :)

To the OP: we have always waited to see where we are allocated at check-in, and we've never had a problem requesting a room / section change. At CSR we were allocated Cabana's 8B so had no need to change, great location midway between the food court and the main pool :)

Ranchos looks a long way away across the lake and isn't really close to anything. I also don't think the section looks quite as nice as cabanas. That's just personal preference though - a lot of people love it! And there's a bus stop so it's still convenient (even more so if you have a car).

DFi and I stayed therd in October 2012, and loved it. We didn't request a room, and we were in Ranchos (8A I think...).
I immediately worried as everyone said its really far from everything...

I didnt find that at all. It took maybe 10 minutes to take a slow wander from room to El Centro, 5 minutes at a slow pace to Dig Site pool, and we were right by bus stop 4.

We had a brilliant time and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again!
