Hubby and I are headed to WDW on our 4th trip overall, 1st Christmas trip in December for 10 days. We, but really mostly me, couldn't decide on which resorts to stay at. I was also obsessing over my goal of staying at all WDW onsite resorts so we are going to stay at POR, CBR, Swan, and Contemporary.

Not to worry as we'll have a rental car for our luggage from CBR to Swan. The rest I'll use luggage transfer services between 'official' WDW resorts.

I worked on an hour-by-hour itinerary and factored in our check-in/check-out times, etc.

Any else do something this crazy sounding or will I hold the record for the most resorts in one trip?

Yes, CS, AKL, Doubletree Guest Suite and BCV. And I would never do it again.

We're doing four on our trip beginning Thursday, but we're (gasp!) going off-site for two of them. We'll be off-site for the SeaWorld and Universal portions of our trip, but we'll stay at BCV and VWL for the most part.

I don't mind moving at all - we'll have a car, too. That seems to make it a lot easier.

That is too much packing and unpacking for me. Not to mention 4 mornings when you might not get into your room until late, especially with resort occupancy rates up at Christmas. I wouldn't do it, but that's just me. Let us know what you decide.

You'll be fine. Just think about all the people that travel overseas and how often they pack and repack. We spent 6 nights in Germany this past June and stayed at 4 different hotels in that time frame. We also had a rental car and just packed accordingly, we also had our two DD, 13 and 10, with us and they did super. If you go into it with a good attitude, I think you will do super! Have fun meeting your goal of staying at all WDW resorts, I would love to accomplish that someday as well.

Let us know what you decide.

We've decided to stay at all 4. I agonized over the decision for weeks until DH reassured me that it's OK with him to stay at 4 resorts.

Besides, my wonderful DU agent, would probably 'fire' me if I made anymore changes at this point. ;)

We stayed at 5. Last June we stayed one night at OKW but didn't get there until midnight and left at 7 the next morning. Someone rented points very cheaply to us that night. Then we went on to 3 nights at BWV then the Polynesian for 5 nights. We then headed to Cocoa Beach for 3 nights. We couldn't get a flight on Saturday so we spent on night at AKL and left on a Sunday.

marlower,

Thanks for your reply and reassurance. Your post did trigger in me why I didn't think all this moving is that big of a deal. You see, DH and I went on a 15-day European trip in 2004 and stayed: 1 night London, 1 night Amsterdam, 1 night Innsbruck, 1 night Heidelberg, 2 nights Venice, 2 nights Rome, 1 night Florence, 2 nights Lucerne, 3 nights Paris. So, 4 diff. WDW resorts is a piece of cake.

yes, we were there for a month~so we did the Poly concierge, the YC concierge, BWI deluxe concierge and the BWV one bedroom!

WOW!

I'm so jealous that, a) you stayed one month, and b) you stayed at 3 concierge levels and a BWV.

You did give me another goal for a future WDW trip though, i.e., stay one month at all resorts offering concierge level. Hmmm, will have to definitely save up for this goal and do lots of convincing DH to say YES. I know, we'll make it an anniversary trip. :cloud9:

We've split our stay in 3 hotels over 1 week before and like you we had a car with us. Instead of lugging 2 large suitcases in to each hotel we packed 3 smaller bags with our clothes divided out for each hotel stay plus one small kit for bathing cosmetic supplies.

Lyn-CA, we're just as crazy as you! When I started researching our trip, I fell in love with and saw merit in 4 different resorts for various reasons. I couldn't decide what to do, so I decided to do all 4! We are staying 11 days, 4 at BWI, 3 at GF, 2 at AKL, and 2 at YC. I've planned our itinerary so that the move shouldn't be too disruptive. We're generally morning park people anyway. We're going to do MGM - Epcot - DTD the first few days (BWI), then have a free day at GF and 2 mornings at MK (GF), then do the Sunrise Safari at AK (AKL), then end it all with the CP at Epcot (YC).

Last year we went to Disneyland (4 days at GCH; 1 day at Disneyland Hotel), then drove up the coast to SF. We took it slow and spent 1 night in Santa Barbara, 1 night in San Luis Obispo, 2 nights in Monterey, 2 nights in SF, 1 night in Fresno, then 5 nights at Yosemite. We would pack one suitcase with everything we needed for the overnight and not even open the others. We had a blast. My kids are a little older (11 & 14) so it was easy. I wouldn't do it if they were younger.

We like moving around but I think most people rather just stay put in one place. I guess it all depends on what you want to do. One thing I considered when making this plan is that I honestly don't think we'll be back to WDW anytime soon. It's much harder to take the kids out of school to travel now, one is going into HS the other entering middle school, and I refuse to go during peak season. This is our first trip there and I wanted it to be awesome. I think if I were a regular visitor I wouldn't feel the need to experience it all at one time.

Have a wonderful vacation and know there are other resort crazies out there ;) .

Dis Ohana,

Thanks for your reply, fellow "resort crazy." DH and I also aren't regulars to WDW so I felt I couldn't wait for future trips to stay at other resorts. And, as if staying at 4 resorts isn't crazy (but in a good way) enough, you should see my jam-packed itinerary. DH and I want to do it all, and we will too, as we're both unbelievably stubborn.

You didn't say when your trip was but I'm guessing around Dec. since you're also going to CP. We're going on 12/9 to CP with Marrakesh dinner pkg.

I like your resort choices too. In fact, for our next trip, I already have in mind/picked out CSR, BWI, GF, YC and AKL just for the Sunrise Safari, too. You know what they say, great minds think alike!

BTW, how'd you like my neck of the woods, i.e., SF, CA?

Lynn, we're there Dec. 8 - 19. I'm really looking forward to the CP, we chose Teppanyaki. I can't wait!

We LOVE SF! In fact we're flying there from DW and spending 2 nights before driving up to Yosemite. It's become a tradition for us to spend Christmas there :) . We drive back to SF after that then fly back home. Last year we were blessed with the most perfect weather while in the SF area.
In fact this trip to WDW is because of that trip we took last year. We were bumped off our flight home so the airline gave us all a free round trip ticket. I figured we should go as far as we can with it, otherwise the airfare would probably be too high for us. It was a huge blessing because we got to spend a whole extra day in SF and a free ticket!

Have a wonderful time on your trip. :goodvibes

I have! I think 5 is my record. I love resort hopping- it makes it feel like a lot of little vacations!

My three children and I just returned about 2 weeks ago, and we stayed at 4 resorts. We always stay at 2, but this trip we added Vero and couldn't rule out any of the others. We did VWL for 4 nights-this was the first resort we ever stayed at, and my children almost cry if I suggest we don't stay there part of the trip:rolleyes: ; BCV for 3 nights-wanted some pool time there; BWV for 6 nights-again, my children love it, especially the community hall; VB for 3 nights-beach retreat before heading home. Although it is a bit of a pain to move, it makes it seem like "different" vacations due to different theming and amenities. Like you said, it is almost impossible to choose, so go for it!!

For Christmas, we'll actually be staying in one place for a whole 6 nights - VWL!!:santa:
