I booked there next month and was wondering if any one you stayed there. It looks very close and that was the clincher for me. Is it one of the "good neighbor" hotels ?

I don't think it's technically a "good neighbor."

We stayed there two years ago on my sister's recommendation. It's clean & was perfect for our family of 5 plus two grandmas. At the time our kids were 5, 4, & almost 2. So we needed a suite for dh & I to relax & watch tv while the kids slept.

Downside: the pool. 1) it's pretty small and 2) it's indoor! Gross! Nothing ever dries, so it super chloriney. Ick.

I've stayed there twice (2010 and 2011). It is so close, you will love the easy walk. My kids thought the indoor pool was cool, though it is very chorine-heavy. The breakfast is cold cereal, milk, juice, apples, store bought danishes, and toast. Denny's is right next door so DH got a breakfast to go each morning while the kids got their cereal from the dispensers. They have fun with the oddest things! We had no problems parking or with any service we needed. Beds were fine and rooms were clean. We will be back again in November!

We stayed there in March, the walk was great and the spa tub was HUGE. So nice to soak in at the end of a day in the parks. I would stay there again. The Internet connection never really worked for us though and that was a but frustrating.

We've stayed there quite a few times. It's a solid 2-star motel, and the proximity is fabulous! We've had good luck w/ the Internet there, but we've only used it casually. We have reservations there for January. Oh, and parking there is a pain. Breakfast starts at 7:30, so not the best for 8:00 opening.

We have stayed there a few times. Like others have said it is just across the street from the main entrance on Harbor, my feet thank me at night on the way back from the parks;). The elevators are extremely slow! Especially when everyone is heading to the parks in the morning.
One thing we didnt like though. We go back to our rooms for a rest in the early afternoon and our rooms were never done by then.
The breakfasts are very minimal, we bring our own stuff.

We will continue to stay there in the future though. I feel safe walking back from the parks at night, the rooms are clean and the proximity to the parks is wonderful.

Yep we just got back from a week long stay there. We've already booked there for this next year :)

We're not huge swimmers so we only went to the pool once. It is, indeed, an indoor pool...so everything that goes along with that exists. However, I didn't think the chlorine was over the top (and I'm super sensitive to chlorine). I wouldn't doubt that it gets that way tho!

The breakfast is small, don't expect the world and you won't be disappointed. It was good enough for us.

The rooms are clean enough for me (germaphobe) and after I lysoled everything I didn't feel like anything was 'gross'...you know how sometimes you just feel dirty going into a room? LOL The maids were super sweet and respectful.

Good to hear this. We usually stay at BWPPI and I got a great rate at DI&S for our trip in October. $79!! My DH wants to pay almost double to stay at BWPPI. The man obviously has no idea about our budget!! I will cancel our BWPPI ressie now without any worries. Thanks!

We did too! For our last trip! We had a two bedroom suite for me, DH, MIL, BIL and all three DDs. It worked perfectly! Comfortable and clean and having stayed further away with the kids before, let me just say how incredibly AWESOME it is to be right across the street from the main gate!! The one downside for us was the breakfast. Pretty skimpy and no protein at all anywhere to be found, BUT Dennys IS right next door and Mimi's is really close too! Mimi's is actually cheaper than Dennys and they have MUCH better food! One morning we also had Joly Holiday Bakery food for breakfast while waiting for ropedrop. They do have mid-size fridges in the rooms though too, so if you want to drop by target, or get a vons delivery, you could easily have a better breakfast and snacks in the room! :thumbsup2

Where did you find such a great rate for your stay?
Did you have a special Promo or Code?
What type of room did you book?
I'm looking for January/February 2013. The C2 family suite rates are $129 to $149/night.

This hotel is really funny about their rates because they dont have a consisted Weekday/weekend rate like most hotels. I've noticed that They can really fluctuate from day to day depending if there is a convention in town or if they anticipate it to be busy. $79 is just their regular rate no discounts because they don't think it will fill up as fast. It really just depends when you go. That same room can go for $109 if they think it will be busy. If you can get the c2 suite for $149 a night then that is a great deal. During peak times they will try to sell that same room for upnto $250 a night. Be careful what "suite you book as they do have a few options. One thing I would advise you to do is book by phoning directly through them. They will often give you a better rate then if you go through websites like hotels or Expedia. One thing to note, they charge a resort fee of $4 a night per room as well as a parking fee of $8 a night per room wether you have a car or not.

I don't think mouseymommy specified a room size (if they did, I missed it...). I have a Parlor Suite A (2 queens, 1 sofabed, sleeps 6) reserved for January for $79 a night. When I made that reservation (back in May), they had the standard rooms for $59. The lowest I'm seeing now is $89 for the Parlor Suite A in early February. The standard rooms (same timeframe) are $69 and the C1 (4 queens) is $119 (I got that suite for $99 last March, reserved in November - don't think you'll find it at that price this year, as the standard rooms are already $109 for that timeframe :scared1:). I've never noticed the C2 suites below $119; the $129 you're seeing is a pretty good rate for a room that sleeps 10.

They are supposedly a participating hotel for the Entertainment card, but when we called about the Entertainment rate, they quoted us the same prices we were seeing online anyway.:confused3 I haven't ever found a discount code for them.

I got our standard room for 109..it'll be semi busy when we're going. It still beat the other places on price.

Like others have said there is an 8 dollar parking fee per day but if you don't have a car (we won't) they won't charge it. This last time we did have a car so I just planned that into the hotel budget and it was still cheaper than other hotel rates.

Please note that there is only ONE parking spot per room, no matter WHAT type of room it is. If you have more than one car you have to park the second one elsewhere. This is their biggest downfall IMO...but we only had the one car this trip.

Yes, their fluctuating rates drive me crazy! :confused3 We are going March 1-8, 2013. I booked the C1 for our family of 5 (we like to have some space!) a month ago at $119/night. My SIL and her DD decided to come with us, so I wanted to change our ressie to the C2 so we have a little more space, as well as the 2 full bathrooms instead of 1 1/2. Last WEEK the C2 was $149. Last night I checked, and the C2 is $229 and the C1 is $199. Prices have gone up $80/night just in the last few days! Obviously, we will be staying with our existing reservation!

We used to stay at BWPPI as well but the last couple years we've switched to DI&S because of the rates. I will gladly stay at either motel but I would never pay double for BWPPI! In fact I wouldn't pay more for BWPPI at all. The room configurations just work better for us at DI&S. The only thing BWPPI has is a bigger breakfast selection but honestly the one at DI&S is enough to get us started in the morning.
