Hi, I was just curious if anyone had ever had water and other goodies shipped to the resort? Like having ups deliver the stuff and arrive the day you check in.

lots of people due it all the time - make sure you name, home(address) are on the package - plus your date of arrival and your reservation number.

when you arrive you will pick up the package at the front desk.

Cool, so this actually works? We usually use town car/limo transfers from airport to WL, but with the new Magical express option this year, I thought it could save money by trying to box up our goodies and ship them to WL.

Thanks

I have not shipped myself, but plan to. Last week there was a thread like this posted and this was the good advice that I will use when I ship.

1. Ship via UPS if possible. Everyone who used them said that it arrived on time and in perfect condition. Two people who reported using regular mail didn't receive them on expected date.

2. Bump what SpiceyCat(Pat) said about labeling the package.

i do this on almost every trip. it makes life a lot easier. of course i always send way too much down and have to leave some stuff behind, but it gives us more time in wdw. make sure you put your arrival date on the package. also i always call the resort and double check the addresss to send the packages to.

We used net.grocer to ship a case of bottled water and some breakfast cereal, snacks, etc. It was great! They were having an offer of free shipping and handling so that really kept the cost at a minimum. The bellman delivered the boxes (the one with the water was really big and heavy) and everything was in perfect condition. We had all the food and water basics which saved us hundreds of dollars without having to spend any WDW vacation time at a supermarket.

Would it be cheaper to use a service liket www.wegoshop.com? Heck, I plan in shipping about a case of bottled water and case of pop... It looks like wegoshop will only charge about $15.00 to bring the stuff to our room.

Can you explain about the Wego program?? If I want a case of bottled water, pop and specific snack goodies do I just email them and they will go shopping for me and bring it to my hotel??

That is exactly what happens. You send them your grocery order, date and time you want it deliveried and they will delivery it to your room.

We have used netgrocer.com twice now. We had breakfast stuff, water, snacks, bread delivered. It was very convenient. For our trip in June I think we are going to try wegoshop.com. With them you actually give them a shopping list...with exactly what brand, size etc., that you want. They do fresh, dairy, frozen, veggies, fruits. They shop there in Orlando, and then deliver it to your resort at a time you both have agreed upon. It sure is a nice way to go.

On our last trip I shipped a large box UPS to the Poly with breakfast and snack foods, and some toys for my DS. I just checked with UPS and scheduled it to that it would be delivered the day before we arrived. Followed the advice given here for addressing it. No problems - and although I don't recall the exact cost - it was not expensive and it was a heavy box!

I was wondering what kinds of products the net-grocers have access to?
My son can only drink rice milk. I have been wondering how am I going to get a 9 day supply of rice milk down to my hotel room.
I live in Massachusetts, and I can purchase rice milk in the regular grocery store. If I could order it online and have it shipped directly to my hotel room, that would save me the trouble of trying to pack 9 cartons of rice milk in my luggage!

A small suggestion, but I'm assuming the reason most people ship food/water to their hotel is so that they don't have to spend time doing shopping once they're down there. If that's the case, does anyone know if you are limited to a set no. of bags when using the Magical Express service? If not, most airlines only charge an extra $25 for a third bag or extra weight items, which usually beats the cost of shipping that bulk of items. Also, the last time I checked wego's site, they were charging something like 12% of the entire bill as a shopping fee and another $15 for delivery. A little pricey, but could be worth it for convenience.

The best deal I found on WDW property a couple of weeks ago was at the small Hess gas station that was selling a 1-gallon of ZephyrHills spring water (from somewhere in FL) for $1.69. It tasted really good and was a lot better than the hotel water. Surprisingly, it was sitting right next to the Evian half-litre bottles they were selling for $1.29...go figure!

Also, those Brita filters do wonders even on WDW hotel water.

Good luck and enjoy your trip!!

It is only $15 for shopping and delivery, if groceries are under $100. It's 12% if groceries are over $300.

We shipped a box and used wegoshop on our trip to FL last Dec. (what's our excuse? :bitelip: we're an organic-loving family with two small kids)

First the box. When we compared rates, FedEx freight was cheaper than UPS. I don't remember exact weight and costs but I think the box was about 40 lbs - it was huge - and cost about $25 to ship. We didn't have bottled water in it, figured that would make it even heavier. Putting our name, ressie number and date of arrival worked like a charm. It was waiting for us and the whole thing went swimmingly.

Wegoshop also worked great for us. Because there's a natural food store (Chamberlins) next door to an Albertsons, they only charged us the $15 fee to go to one store o we are able to mix organic produce and dairy from one store with "cheap" bottled water from next door. It was delivered on time and with a smile. We were very pleased!

That's doesnt sound too bad then. The way I read it initially was $15 shopping and (plus an additional) delivery fee. Guess I've been working in government regulations too long. I probably would have pursued & utilized it if I hadn't read more into the "&"

Guess I learned my "something new" today!

I did this last year. PAcked up a box full of capri sun, swim diapers, pull ups, fruit snacks, gum, etc, etc. Shipped it 4-5 days prior to our arrival at WL and when we got there it was waiting. good luck

I am wondering if I can just box up a case of H2O, some snack stuff, cereal and send it along with my luggage? For 2 of us we usually only check 1 suitcase. I relize we would have to leave the box open for the airline to check it then we could just seal it up good and check it....Anyone do this before?
