We are looking to do a four day on the Enchantment in April. Anyone ever been on this ship, and how does it compare to the magic?

We just sailed on Enchantment in August and LOVED it. We have sailed on Disney 5 times (both Magic and Wonder). The ships themselves are about the same size. As for the amenites, The rooms on Disney are larger but the Enchantment rooms are comfortable (they are not small like some of the other ships, but they are not as large as Disney). The food on Enchantment was very good (we ate at Windjammer quite a bit and it was great too). Enchantment had the best service, the crew on board is wonderful, top notch, but the activites are a little more relaxed than Disney. We were hesitant, at first, to go on Enchantment but I found on another message board that is for RCCL that no one had any complaints about the ship, service, etc. so I said we could give it a try. I have to tell you we fell in love with the ship. I was very impressed with the upkeep of the ship, the crew, the whole experience (being that was my 15th cruise it takes a bit to impress me). I would definetly sail on Enchantment again in a heartbeat.

If you have any specific questions about the ship I would be happy to answer them for you :)

Do you have any children that were in the Adventure Ocean program? I have looked at some of the ship's layouts and it seems the allocated space for kids programming is small. But, It is VERY hard to see on a ship map.

Also, I am not interested in the Voyager Class ships -- too big for me, but I am very interested in this Radiance class ship.

Did you have a balcony room? What departure port? Pools still have salt water? (I just realized how much of a problem this is for me -- my DD4 has VERY bad excema and the salt water hurts her skin. She asked the other day about the 'clean' pools and if the hotel we were going to had 'clean' pools or 'dirty (salty) pools.

Thanks LibertyBElle! How encouraging! To be honest DW and I have sailed Disney twice and we rave about it all the time. We wil be cruising with my parents and brother, who have never been on a cruise before, and I want them to have a great time. I was concerned if the Enchantment was a far drop from the Magic that DW and I would be let down and that would roll over to my family. I want them to have a great experience!

SandraLee: the Radiance class does have a fairly small area for kids clubs, but they also do alot outside of the clubs. We sailed to Alaska, so the number of kids was less than on a caribbean cruise. The pools were salt water.

Yeah the pools are salt water :( YUCK! But you find that on most cruise ships (Disney is a luxury on that one). We do not have any kids, so I am not familiar with the kids club itself but I did see the facilites on Enchantment (as well as Brilliance and Voyager which we have also sailed) and RCCL does a really good job with the kids. We had two girls at our dinner table on Enchantment (probably about 8 and 10 years old) and they were having a great time. The facilites may be smaller, but the activites seemed to be good and the counslers were fun.

As far as the different class of RCCL ships, we have sailed on Voyager (Voyager class), Brilliance (Radiance class) and Enchantment (Vision Class) as well as Sovereign (which I did not like at all...cried the whole time as we were docked next to the Wonder). and my favorite is the Radiance class...we sailed Brilliance and are booked on Serenade next year. The Radiance class ships are just very elegant, a little more formal than Voyager class without being to grown up. The Voyager class was great fun and I would not hesitate to do one of those ships again, but they are more active than we like... I cruise to relax, I like the activites but I am not one to Rock Climb or Ice Skate, so it is not a huge issue for me to not have those amenities. Enchantment was very relaxing and a beautiful ship. I would love to sail on her again (and probably will)...

We do book balcony rooms on all of our cruises. On Enchantment we had a Cat C (which I believe is now a JS...RCCL just changed the cat names) because I wanted an aft room. That is what they call a mini suite, but not really it just has a little larger seating area in the "living room" basically it was a touch larger than a Disney room but not much. The regular balcony rooms are a little smaller than the DCL rooms (you lose the split bath, another Disney Luxury) but you still have the seperate sitting area which I love.

All in all I have no complaints at all about Enchantment or Brilliance I would recommend them (Or their sister ships: Enchantment, Vision, Grandeur/ Radiance, Serenade, Jewel and Brilliance).
