In January I was on the beach and renting the jetskis looks like fun. People appeared to be bargaining with the guy on the price. IE, the Jetski guy would say "$45 for 1/2 hour", but the person would say "I only have $30" and Jetski guy would say "that's fine"??? Also I was wondering if I could take a 5 year old on it with me??

Yes, our family rented a jet ski at the beach in St. Martin and we had a fabulous time. Not sure if my husband bargained with the guy or not. I do know that he gave us the use of a chair and umbrella free with jetski rental. My husband took the kids out on an alternating basis. Actually, we have 3 kids, and he took 2 at a time. Our kids were 6, 8 (with broken arm) and 13. We always had the 6 year old in middle on the jetski. We did this instead of an excursion in St. Martin and it was great. Wish I were there!:bounce:

Did they have life jackets for the kids?

This sounds like a perfect day for us! Greatbay is the beach right where the water taxi's drop you off, correct?

Yes, there were life jackets for everyone. I'm not sure of beach's name, but it was the one next to water taxi. Right next to where you walk into town. Girls also got their hair braided on beach here.

Well, thanks to this thread, I've got our day in St. Maarten planned!

Now, on to St Thomas...

Thanks to everyone that replied. I think I might be able to get the 5 year old out of the "club" if he can get a ride on a jet ski!:bounce:
