So, after my first post about taking a two-day trip, you all convinced me to take a three-day trip instead! I called customer service to see about upgrading my two-day park hopper to a three-day one, and they said I could do it in person at the park, although since the online rate is a special savings, upgrading in person would have been $106 for a single-day entry to the park, which as you know is more expensive than if I just bought a separate day at the park, not to mention the online 3-day park hopper comes with one MM.

So, I called customer service again today, and although my receipt from my original ticket says "tickets are non-refundable", the cs agent said to email my confirmation number from the two-day tickets to the Disney customer service email address and that they might refund me for the two-days so I could buy the three-days online. She said it usually takes 2 business days to get a response, and my trip isn't until 3/29-3/31, so I'm not nervous yet, but I don't want to order the new 3-day until I know whether or not they will refund me.

Has anyone ever had any experience in which you could cancel or trade in tickets even though they said they were non-refundable? I'm just hoping she wouldn't tell me that unless it was true... and hoping I can get my 3-day trip because I am uber excited!

Thanks!

I haven't needed to have anything refunded, but in case you do, when you re-order just do the e-ticket. That's nearly instantaneous, and I believe you just take the printout to the gates and get your proper ticket there. So there'll be no need to wait for tickets to get to you.

And I'll say to you what I've been trying to get my brother to do for a few years...you're in Southern CA (per your Location), get the so cal AP! My brother just pays for a one day ticket every time he goes (which is always with someone else touristy)...I want him to get at least the lowest level AP, LOL.

Thanks for that tip! I did look it up however and for the cheaper limited SoCal AP (I won't use it enough to justify the cost of the unlimited AP), the dates I'm looking for are blocked out , as well almost all weekends and most of the weekdays in the summer as well! For this particular trip, I'd be blacked out one day, so I at least need a separate ticket for my sister's trip, but after that I might think about it for next year!

Keep in mind you can upgrade your park hoppers to any AP on your last day of use. You will be able to get into the parks and hop on that last day and you will not be charged a blackout ticket fee. This is what we did with our very first APs. Just remember that you must pay more when upgrading, so make sure your new So Cal AP is more $$$ then the tickets you buy from DL. :)
