Anyone ever put a special note on their room booking?

I just read about how people have called the resort they are staying at a week early and asked to make a note on their reservation of a special event. I was thinking about doing this for the trip as I plan on asking my DGF to marry me on it, however I am worried if they would read it as an "engagement celebration" trip and do something like leave a note from mickey and minnie congratulating us too early.

I just thought they might do something like offer a complimentary upgrade on the room or perhaps even ask for when I plan on asking her and put something special in our room afterwards...

Has anyone ever done this?
