Anyone ever lose a toenail (the saga continues!)

Oh yeah, one time, a had a nail tech convince me to let her put an acrylic on there so it would look "normal". It hurt like crap for like two weeks, then was fine and looked good, until, on 9/11, as we were eating lunc hand trying to make sense of all tha had happened, DH hit the acrylic with his big honkin' size13s, popping both the acrylic and my ugly toenail right off.

I lost my first toenail after running the Disney half marathon last year. It turned black and when it eventually loosened itself off, there was another soft new toenail underneath. It grew back in normally.

This year I did the full marathon and I have two black toes, still waiting for them to come off. I can't remember how long I had to wait last time, but now it has been almost 3 months and nothing is happening yet.

Toenails are for sissies!

I got my first black toenail on Saturday after a nine mile run. I was shocked when I took off my shoe. Still have my toenail, but I can tell it is just a matter of time.

My plan of attack:

Have a drink or two
Find some leather strapping
Bite down on leather strapping
Rip toe nail off
Mop up blood
After the bleeding has subsided paint a new toe nail on.

I was without a toe nail for entire summer a few years back. I would paint a toe nail in the appropriate spot on my toe. No one ever said anything to me about my missing toe. I suppose that means that either I did a pretty good job of painting on my toe nail or that people were just too polite to say anything to the girl with 9 toe nails.
