My daughter's marching band will be marching down main street during the night parade. I don't ever remember seeing this in the past.

Was I just really unobservent or is this a new thing?

Yes actually they do it about fifteen minutes or a half hour before the parade and there are usually 2-3 bands that do this as a preshow entertainment thing.

My daughter did it last year on New Years Eve -- it was very cool!

I haven't seen it in years because I'm always there in the summer. But I had several friends in college that had marched at WDW and my sr. year of HS 6 of us went for Spring Break and ran into a guy who'd moved away in 8th grade who was there with his HS band.

Yes...they do it a lot...it's definitely a cool thing!!!!

When I was in high school my Marching Band did Magic Music Days. That was about 12 years ago, maybe more, but I remember it well and it was a blast to be able to march down Main St. USA and perform in Epcot. Also really cool to hear that announcing voice announcing my band:)

I always see the HS marching bands when we are there. All of the kids have great big grins. What a thrill this must be for them!

My daughter's marching band did this in Dec (they played Christmas music). It's part of the Magic Music Days. They'll get a pin and a T-shirt to commemorate the event. I don't think it's new, but my DD is just a freshman, so it was our first time to do it. But I know our school band has done it in the past.
